Tires: what are you running?

My Kumho Victoracers are really sticky in the dry but leave something to be desired in the wet. Since I'm running 335/35/17's on the rear,I don't have a lot of choices for something other than a Competition tire. Am looking hard at a set of Michelin Pilot Sports. What are you guys running on your cars now? Any of you have Pirellis or Dunlops?
Just need something a little more all-weather as I will be driving my El Camino almost year-round,now.

Iam really happy with my BFG KDW's Though i don't like to drive in the
rain,but when i do it sticks like glue and they have a nice ride/feel to
them. I've always been partial to bfg and almost have always used there
tires on my projects.

Though in my "drunk with my youth days" we used to call them BFG "slidemats" :lmao:

I am running Nitto 555r Extreme and they really perform well on the dry roads but even better in the worst of rain you can imagine. Im very very impressed! Im quite sure a lot of members in here are running these.
Oops I just noticed you have 335. I only have 275 sorry I might not be any help.

I was in the same boat with the 335 choices- about 3 without going to a competition tire. I finally ordered the Dunlop 8000's (tread pattern became deciding factor). My project is far from done, but I am anxious to try them out. Reviews of them are from poor to excellent. :dunno:

My friend has them on a 89 Corvette and really likes them, claims they are good all around wet/dry.

I have the Michillin Pilot Sports and they seem like great tires.. Keep in mind the the pilot sports have been redesigned and are not asymetrical (as opposed to symetrical/directional) and supposed to be much better, even in the rain.

I just switched from Supras 712 to Nitto 555s. WOW, what a difference. I love them.

Are you running the Pilot Sport PS2's on the front,Steve? That's what I'm kinda looking at. I ran Michelins on both my ZR-1's and was very pleased with them. They cost around $50 more than other tire but it seems you get what you pay for.
BFG used to build 335's until Michelin bought the company. I've always been a fan of BFG and really like the new Nittos,too.
Just wish Michelin & Pirelli would offer the larger sizes in 17's. Only the 19's have 345's & 355's offered.

FWIW,I decided to go with Michelin Pilot Sports. Ordered a set this morning. My Kumho V700's have around 3K miles of use and will be for sale soon,if anyone is interested. Have a pending deal on the fronts.
