Just like the title says, what is a good combination of springs and shocks for LS1/t56 1980 Trans Am? I want something that will have a nice, firm ride, with a nice lowered stance since I plan to tackle some twisties once I get it on the road. But I'm also on a budget, which doesnt allow me to go over the top. Here is a link of what I'm thinking about ordering. Mostly concerned about the shocks, is there much of a difference between the two.

Or maybe these Edelbrocks instead.

I'll admit I don't have direct experience with any of those, but i've heard the edelbrocks are not....really....very good.

Check these out, everyone I know who runs them has been very satisfied. Most of his packages are based on updated versions of herb Adams' specs, from what I understand. Regardless they seem to be a great product.

Oh temptation, this site has alot of great stuff such as control arms and such for good prices.

About the Edelbrocks I actually felt kind of iffy about, too, so I may just forget about those.

The stance on your car is killer by the way. Thanks for the link.

Thanks man! Haha the temptation is there indeed, but even just one of their matched spring/shock combos would liven things up quick. Their chassis stiffening gear is way more important than the tubular control arms IMO. Subframe connectors, g-braces, and a swaybar brace would go a long way toward letting the shocks and springs do their job properly.

You're absolutrly correct. Unfortunately I must keep focused on just getting a good spring and shock combo to get the firm ride amd correct ride height for a lighter motor. Eventually I will get some of the other good stuff.
