Hey Guys,
Just the other day I sold my Pro-Touring '78 Trans Am and will be delivering it to its new owner on Memorial Day. I learned a tremendous amount on that car and she sure was great for the limited time I drove her. LS1/4L60e Detroit Speed arms, Pro-Touring F-body Suspension and a boatload of other goodies. And while it saddens me to get rid of her...I am getting married and have some serious house work that needs to be done.
However as one door closes, a new one opens. Well, the door opened for this girl:

A 1969 Olds Cutlass S with 44,000 miles on the clock. Why's it look so beat you ask? Well, the previous owner bogarted all the good sheetmetal to put on his 442 only to sell the damn thing!
Anyway, I snatched this guy up for $1K and the interior is practically mint!
My plans you ask??? Well, I talked with Mark at SC&C and she will be LOADED with the best of his catalog:
- Stage II Plus System
- SPC Lower Control Arms
- SPC Springs
- Currie Currectrac Rear Lowers
- Adjustable Uppers
- Chassisworks VariShocks
- Hellwig Pro-Touring Adjust Rear Bar
- Hellwig 1-1/4 Hollow-wall Front Bar
- Lee 800 Series Box
- HydroBoost
- Front Baer Track System -13in Rotors
- Baer Iron Sport Rears
For Wheels........BOOYAH!!!!!!!!!!
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2010/05/RatedX-1.jpg
18" Rushforth Rated-X!!!!!!!!!!!!! 18X8 fronts 18x10 rears. I love these things and think they will look killer on a Victory Red Painted W-31 Cloned Cutlass with two black stripes down the hood.
Car's coming in the garage this weekedn when the TA leaves...
Oh and for a power plant? This will do nicely...
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2010/05/EngineDetail007-1.jpg
403 Olds from my drag car...ran 11.50s in that but I swapped the cam to make it a little more streetable. For now it will be backed by a TH350 but will eventually get a 200R4 transmission or 4LXX-esque trans. Oh and to top it off...
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
A nice little kit from MassFloEFI...
I am sooooo stoked for this project it is ridiculous! I am working on the guts first then paint.
Gentlemen...here she is...a Victory Red Olds Rocket...hence the name...
Project Red Rocket!!! :lmao::lmao:I know I know...I'm just fine with the jokes though...that's why I picked it!!!
Thanks Guys,
Dave

Thanks man, I am really excited about this one too! I owned this car for a little bit, sold it to my buddy...he put it up for sale...I bought it back...haha. I couldn't let her go, she was built in NJ 30 minutes from my house!!!
Next week I should be ordering all the suspension goodies and starting with the teardown process. I am going to include some more pics today of the engine!

Hope that wasn't you that didn't take the time to tape up the nice aluminum parts on the front of the engine before spraying the gold?

Yea it was, and paint comes off in a hot tank...probably not using that stuff anyway. Plus I can wet sand it and polish it right back up again. Already did that to a couple of pieces since these pics are a little old. Been considering the available alternatives for a power steering pump mount and basically....there is none for Olds. That being said I can get a serpentine belt setup for "stock" accessories. That will probably be the way I go.
Thanks,

Hey there,
It was a very simple build that ran for 3 years in my '84 Cutlass drag car...9.7:1 Stock bottom end...all cryoed. 7A heads ported and worked over pretty well. Harland Sharp roller rockers, Holley Street Dominator worked over to a 4150 flange. Two 1 inch spacers and worked 4150 double pumper. It ran 11.50s all day long with 3.73 gears with a TH350. The cam in this thing was an olds stock eliminator cam with 244/244 duration @.050 with .484"/.484" lift on a 102 LSA installed straight up.
I stepped the cam back to a Lunati 60803 that is a 227/233 @ .050 with .510"/.522" lift. It is a 110 LSA installed 4 degrees advanced. I am replacing the top end minus the heads with the Mass Flo EFI System...shoudl really make for a nice set-up. I would expect times in the mid-12s when all is said and done with decent gas mileage.

Small Update with BIG NEWS for me!
I have been talking a lot with Mark from SC&C and we have a real solid concept for the suspension and got to talking about wheels today as well.
Originally I was going to go with the Rated X Rushforths you see above. After punting some ideas around with Mark I made a quick call to Jason Rushforth and we just may have a neat little "Concept" for us Olds guys....
Stay tuned...rendering to appear within the next few weeks!

sweet! looking forward to hearing more about that...
your 403 sounds a lot like how I'm building mine, although I'm use the KB 6cc dish pistons and regular heads. maybe Edelbrocks. if I get anywhere near the performance you got, I'll be ecstatic.

Finally had a chance to get the car out of the garage and working on her. Tore into the front end and pulled off the fenders, hood and core support.
Got a few pics of the original straight six…kinda cool in its own way. Can’t wait to get this guy up and running and ready to rock and roll.
I plan to pull the engine and tranny tomorrow and hopefully begin separating the body from the frame. I am going to strip the frame of the suspension and take it to a place in Toms River, NJ to have it blasted. I am then going to smooth the factory weld seems and gusset accordingly. I will also be adding structural support in key areas. Finally it will be taken to a place near me to be powder coated.[/FONa]
Enjoy the pics!

Finally have a little bit of an update.
I have the engine compartment nice and cleaned up but made some more changes today so I have to redo a couple things...NO BIG DEAL because I am now closer to realizing the concept I was originally after.
Today I purchased a full BMR Fabrication Suspension Kit from Fletcher's Customs...thanks Chad!!! I am planning on a ton of street driving with this thing so this felt like an affordable good start for me. I did not want to put a roll bar in this car, so my '84 Cutlass (originally a drag car) is what will get the turbo and a full SC&C suspension. If you have never talked to Marcus at SC&C...do it! He will educate you without making you feel too stupid.
Anyway, here's what the kit looks like! I subbed in the adjustable rear uppers.

Quick update with more pics to follow tomorrow...
Scored a '68-'72 Chevelle 12bolt rear for peanuts!!! :headbang::headbang:
This will be the perfect candidate for the CPP Big Brake kit!
Also continued work stripping the car apart...should have all the old suspension off by tomorrow and all the old brake lines out as well.
Not sure if I will be able to stab the engine and tranny in, but went a little different direction with the front timing cover area. Going to replace the "bling bling" with stock, cleaned and repainted bracketry. It will be a cleaner package in my opinion overall and will allow me to mount the turbo (should I choose to use it :naughty:) a lot easier.
Pics to follow tomorrow!

Well I got just the shortblock...10 minutes from my house off Craigslist. It is in his '69 Malibu that is running 10s and driving it to the track. I sounds nasty as all get out but no matter to me, this LY6 is staying VVT delete and will be getting L92 heads (~9.6:1 compression) and this guy:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2010/06/4202R-1.jpg
It will be backed by a 4L80e and my goal is pump gas, driven to the track, 10 sec boost passes with 18 mpg regular driving. It can be done...OH YES...it can be done!
Oh yea, Santa got lost and dropped something off at my house today as well...

Got a nice update for today...
Been selling off a lot of my stalled projects and stuff I just couldn't use anymore and am making back some money I am spending on my wedding.
This weekend I picked up the LY6 block, Edelbrock adapter plates and Energy suspension poly-mounts.
I also got a few boxes from the guys in brown...so this morning I snuck out in the garage early and got a little done:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2010/07/IMG_6107-1.jpg
I'll snap a few more pics tomorrow but so far I am very happy with the quality of the BMR stuff and with CPP's Big Brake Kit. With BMR I only had one thing not get shipped and was a small oversight on their part. It was in my hands within a few days. CPP I am a little angry with because they charged me shipping when they said it was free, they also told me everything was in stock when I was ordering (because I specifically asked about that...one of my reasons I bought their kit) then when my order wasn't charged in over a week I called and found the hubs were on backorder. :throw: That REALLY pissed me off and after a three week wait I finally got the brakes about 3.5 weeks after I ordered it. Not the end of the world, just hate being lied to. Regardless, I am very happy with the quality.
More to come!

Little Update...
Progress has been slow because I am planning for the wedding but also trying to continue to clean out the garage. Starting to get some of the ancillary tasks done in the mean time. Also trying to figure out how to swing buying the valvetrain and oil pump/pan. All in due time it would seem.
Anyways, today is I painted the short block I scored right near my house. LY6 with fly cuts already done. I am throwing stock L92s on her (assuming USPS ever delivers them!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:) but nevertheless, she is looking nice!

I know man, and I was a little upset to see her go. Unfortunately I have had an up and down relationship with a few Olds vendors, one in particular, that I am just sick of dealing with and wanted to rid myself of any of that stuff that reminded me of it. Plus I felt like it was time for me to make a change and get back to doing what I loved...hot rodding. I lost a TON of money through a few bad experiences with Olds vendors and honestly felt like a clean break was the best thing for me. Yea, I will never get the money back, but instead of letting that thing sit around forever collecting dust, constantly reminding me of all the mistakes I made, someone else is estatic to get it and continue using it as intended.
I know it all sounds kinda fruity but with my wedding looming...haha...the extra change also helped a lot. Trust me when you see this thing done, I think you will really like the blend of "Olds" and new!

Got a few updates!
Just about got the front end buttoned up. Sway bar installed last week. Still need to install the steering box and steering linkage but that is only minor. Also built the rear with the CPP rear big brake kit. Everything looks great! Pics to come tomorrow.
Also picked up some engine goodies. I sold the original 74mm turbo I had because I believe I need to walk before I run. I picked up another turbo and wastegate combo...67mm turbo which should max out at around 700 hp without IAT issues with a decent intercooler. I am looking for a VERY drivable 600 flywheel horse. Got this baby today:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2010/09/IntakeSetup-1.jpg
GMPP intake, Wilson Manifolds fuel rails, Edelbrock 90-deg elbow, injectors, and gaskets for a smokin' deal.
I will eventually upgrade the injectors but for now they will be good to start with.
More to come in the next few days!

Got an update for today...will have to snap some better pics real soon.
LS9 cam is installed as well as he heads and timing chain (with LS2 cam gear). Waiting on a couple things before I install the valley cover, PRs and rockers. Unfortunately I need to get the front accessory drive (with the balancer) before I can tighten down the timing cover and oil pan.
Waiting on a #10-AN bulkhead fitting for the Oil Pan. This will be my Turbo's return port. Want to get the accessory drive somewhat mocked up before I commit to where I am placing this thing. Want to make sure that there is sufficient clearance and as straight a shot for the drain back off the turbo.
Also received the Hotchkis tie rods and centerlink and am still waiting on my damn GM600 box from an Ebay vendor...when will I ever learn!?!
Ground down the rear UCA from BMR to work on the 12 Bolt...pretty typical so I wasn't surprised. Trying to get the rear installed by next weekend because I have a feeling I will be a little tied up...

Here's some photos of the progress. Again...sorry for the mess. Trying to slowly throw things away i don't need...but I generally hold on to the until the last possible minute just in case I need it.
Anyway, on to the pics!
Here's another shot of the front suspension with complete steering...only thing left is to install the shocks
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/03/IMG_8845-1.jpg
Complete Long block sans valve covers...kinda had an issue with the ones I got...they were misrepresented and I did not get better pics...oh well.
Without valve covers:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/03/IMG_8848-1.jpg
With Driver's cover...passenger doesn't fit:

Edelbrock adapters with PST mounts:

Rear suspension installed minus sway bar - 12" rear brakes:

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/03/IMG_8854-1.jpg
Underside of trunk pan...going with trunk mounted fuel cell. I figure I will be eventually upping the power and needing a roll bar...plus it leaves me room for an additional set of muffs and easy fuel pump routing underneath - especially if I go E85 I can fit dual pumps with no issue. I also have room for the trans cooler back there.

Another front shot:

And Bilstein shocks:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/03/IMG_8861-1.jpg
Definitely a lot more to come this week. I should be getting my GMPP front accessory drive from Pace, as well as my EX EFI from Jake (JRS) and my Stainless Valve Covers which I purchased tonight. Also not pictured is my MSD 6012 box and harness.
This is what I am going for under the hood...just a lot less cluttered:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
I'm still all screwed up on wheel sizes at the moment as well as color. I am torn between Victory Red...(red rocket...duh) or BMW Sparkling Graphite Metallic with semi-gloss bumpers, trim, etc... I really think that will look sinister.
MORE TO COME!!!
-------------
And for today's updates...
Finished buttoning up the bottom end and front cover...still waiting on my accessory drive from Pace Performance...its a very popular item so they are a little backordered.
Installed the new valve covers and coils as well as the Pacesetter Headers that I will be modding slightly for my build. Should work nicely.
Also made a sweet purchase from Luke Mau of L&H Kustoms - a complete Vaporworx tank pump and regulator set-up!!! I am VERY STOKED about this one as I plan of upping the power in the near future and won't have to do a darn thing to the fuel system.
On to the pics!

Few updates for today. Got the EZ EFI on Thursday...very excited!!!! Also got the engine and trans stabbed in for the first of many times this weekend. The PST urethane mounts are a real PITA to work with not to mention I have to trim some metal off the top of the 4L60e. Is there any other A-body guys out there that had that issue as well? I will take some pics of had to do tomorrow after it is done. I believe they are panhard bar mounts for the 4th Gen Fbody as that is what I got it from....what a pain in the arse.
Anyway, a pleasant surprise, 4th Gen Fbody headers will work well in an A body. I will have to redirect the pipe once out of the header but no big deal.
Enjoy the pics.

Engine and transmission are officially in...wooohooo!!! Went in a lot easier than yesterday's debacle. Cut the panhard bar mounts off the top and made a world of difference!
Headers fit really well...they are 4th gen F-bodies right out of the box.

Little update for ya...
Looks like I goofed and installed the wrong flexplate. Hey, it happens to the best of us, so the engine is back out again. Not the end of the world, just glad I noticed it before I did anything stupid...haha
And while I feel I took a small step backward, I did take two steps forward today! Decide to get a cheaper set of wheels for now because I just can see spending $3000 for a set of wheels that will enter a paint booth and I want to make sure they fit the car. I decided on the Boss 338s for now...with Rushforth Rated Xs coming in the not so distant future.
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
I also picked up a set of Nitto 555s to complete my rolling stock.
The FAST EZ TCU showed up yesterday as well so I am still moving in the right direction. Still a little bummed Pace hasn't delivered by accessory drive yet, but they are still making them...or so I have been told. Been close to 3 weeks since order, but what can I do...
Oh well, thanks!

Nice little update....SHE ROLLS!!!
Got her out of the garage for the first time in a over a year or so...definitely need to work on the camber...lol. But I am way overdue cleaning the garage. Gotta start getting some sheet metal on the front to get a feel if I need ot go lower on the front springs.
Still waiting on the tank and front accessory drive. Am going to start on wiring and body work in the next few days.
Enjoy...

Been a while since an update....should have more for this coming week. Finally got a Corvette Accessory Drive form a company called Nook and Tranny...they are an Ebay vendor and were VERY helpful...pieced together the exact kit Pace Performance was offering (but NEVER delivered) at a competitive price.
Anyways, I have been doing a lot of wiring and will be doing some body work as well in the next few weeks. Hope to have her running within a month...trying to keep my credit cards in check...
I changed the valve covers to stock LS3 style ones so that I could clear the drive and I could paint them W30 bronze...gives it a stealthier look.
Here's some shots of the accessory drive installed.

As promised...here are the pics and some discriptions. I still need to take a few of the PSI Conversion harness but this will wet your whistle...
This is a shot with the new intake installed. I am not thrilled with the purple fuel rails but they will do for now. Currently has LS3 42lb injectors right now...that will also change since it won't be enough. Also shows the two manifolds I plan to use - one driver's side truck manny flipped and a driver's side Fbody manny.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/05/IMG_9077-1.jpg
Next couple shots show the clearance on the truck manifold on the passenger side...its about a 1/4". I am thinking I will still pull the motor...again...because I have to drill and tap the pan for the return fitting of the turbo. Driver's side F-body Manifold fits perfectly. I am still not 100% sure if I am going to bring the crossover under the pan between the sump and crossmember or back further under the bellhousing.

Where I plan to put the return fitting for the turbo (I am thinking I may overfiill the pan with oil and let the positive pressure push the chips back out the pan...also work with the grease on the bit method.) This is just left of the balancer when viewed from the front.

Here's some shots of the manifold I reworked this weekend to redirect the connecting flange so that it is more easily accessible and has the O2 sensor bung. So I basically did a "flange swap". Sliced and cleaned up the manifold and connecting portion and sealed the deal.

These guys when finished along with the mid and downpipe will be Black JETHOT coated. I am going to clean up the manifolds a little before I send them out because while I am happy with the welds, I am a little unhappy with their appearance. I did, however, want to make sure I got enough heat in them because I have a huge heatsink on one side and small pipe on the other.
These next shots show where the mid-pipe from the driver's side will go to keep it up near the frame but minimize the length disparity between passenger and driver's side feedpipes.

Upon further review I realized something today...I REALLY hate the way the manifold looks...everything I am doing on this build is supposed to be exactly how I want it and I compromised with the passenger side. I went out and literally stared at it like a moron for 10 straight minutes and said nothing.
I then walked into the house got onto the computer and ordered this:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/05/photo61-1.jpg
A Speedway Motors LS1 header kit...I didn't like the fact I couldn't bring the midpipe around front of the motor with manifolds and didn't like the way the C6 manis looked flipped. SOOOO...this will be at my door shortly and I will have headers by this weekend ('cause I accidentally took off from work Friday!!! )
They will look a lot like this when they are done:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/05/photo42-1.jpg
My midpipe will be shaped a little differently, however.
Lots more to come!

I am going to use the mild steel kit and have it black ceramic coated. I could go with their stainless kit but honestly $189 is just too good a price to pass up. Plus if I completely shyt the bed making them, I don't feel too too bad buying another kit...LOL

Just to save you some potential cursing, the mild steel will crack and the coating will actually cause it to happen faster. (I'm guessing it's 18 guage) I would rather see you go with the cast manifolds. Please don't take this as me being negative. I'm really just trying to save you some trouble from my own experience. 304 or idealy 321 stainless are about the only way to go when building turbo headers unless you use schedule 10 pipe.

What do you think caused the mild steel headers to crack on you? Where were they more prone to cracking from your experience? Since I already ordered them I will go with them for now and once I get the tubes and everything how I like them run them till they give up the ghost and go with Stainless.
My guess is that turbo manifolds do not heat evenly and are cycled a TON, any inconsistencies become fair game for cracks. Then once you weld on that metal the heat effected zone is weakened to stress and becomes effected faster. Welding up the cracks would then basically move the cracks around the manifold.
Dammit I hate the way these look and I just wasted a lot of money...LOL.
Whatever, I have been warned and will give it a shot for now. Thanks for the heads up. I will quote the previous thread when they do crack and you can say i told you so! LOL
64LS1Nova
05-25-2011, 02:55 AM
LOL, I'd never hit you with a told you so. You hit the nail on the head with why they crack. There are 3 or 4 complany's making stainless up/forward headers similar to the picture for around $1k. Or You could check out the C6 manifolds like I used in my build. Turbo build thread (http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/1204201-finally-started-twin-turbo-project.html)

The drivers Fbody and passenger side using a drivers truck manifold work for me but man do i now hate how it looks. For $189 for the Speedway motors kit, I will let it slide for a little while. I very much appreciate your input though. The Vette manifold may not work on the driver's side because the steering shaft is ridiculously close to the header on that side, flip over the manifold and you can't get past...that's what pushed me in the header direction.
We'll see how it goes for now...hopefully I'll get more than 15 minutes out of them...LOL
BanditDave

All righty! Got some updates for ya! After several days of mocking up the tubular headers I found I just couldn't get everything to fit properly in the engine compartment and not risk burning the inner wheel wells. I decided to go back to the truck manifold and the Fbody Manifold - a lot less risk of cracking and I have made some excellent progress this weekend.
I made the passenger intermediate pipe and began the driver's side mid-pipe...I am a little further ahead than what the pictures show but this gives you a good idea what I am talking about...
These pics show the passenger side midpipe leading up to the fully-divided T6 flange. I will be taking two smaller sizes tubes off each pipe for the wastegate soon.

I am coming off a driver's side Fbody manifold in the stock configuration under the pan (between the crossmember and sump) and over to the other side. There will be a flexible pipe there and everything will be coated and wrapped. I am waiting on the seller to send me my damn flange for the manifold. He's taking his good old time for a friggin small part.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2011/05/IMG_9071-1.jpg
As far as supporting the turbo, my two points of interest are either the passenger head/block or right down to the framerail with a slipjoint of some sort. For obvious reasons I am trying to come off the engine so everything is moving together and not resisting motion as much. Eventually when all this stuff is done - soon - it is off to JETHOT for some high temp coating.

Been a while since an update...definitely been busy with work and my grandmother's health has taken a turn for the worse so there hasn't been much time to play.
Anyhow, I got out to the garage this afternoon and got back to work on the midpipe and basically finished the crossover pipe from the driver's side. Lots of twists and bend and while I am not totally happy with it, it isn't bad for my first attempt at it. I really need to invest in some better cutting tools so I can get cleaner cuts...........and maybe a TIG.
What I got left:
- Intercooler and coldside piping
- Need to get a ministarter
- Bigger injectors
- Finish wiring
- Driveshaft
- Downpipe fabrication
- Wastegate and BOV purchasing and fabrication - currently going with two Tial 38mm but I am not sure I will have the room for both of them, would like to keep them fully divided.
- Throttle Body purchasing and possibly a slightly less angled Intake Elbow to bring the intake over the driver's side valve cover...will give me room for WGs in front of engine.
- Finish exhaust
- Install Vaporworx tank and plumb fuel system....
Dayum....lot more to do now that i wrote it down...lol
Anyway...here's some pics...
Here's the crossover pipe from the driver's side manny and the route it takes to get there. It will be ceramic coated and wrapped.

I kind of like the "purpose built" look. Unless you are trying build a show car, I'd be more than happy. At least you can do this type of working (fab, cutting, welding), which is way out of my territory. Thanks for the updates and hope grandma gets to feeling better!

Thanks man...appreciate hte kind words...
As for gram, it is looking like this will be the end of the road for her...she is in heart failure. She's almost 92 so she had a real good ride but it is always hard to see someone you love go, especially when one of your earliest memories is of that person changing your diaper!

Yep...actually a bit of updates...had to pull back on the build slightly to get her up and running. Had some issues with the recent hurricane and needed to sell off some of my stuff (turbo and procharger) so I wouldn't bang the credit cards...I refuse to spend money on them since I blasted them on my wedding...lol.
Anyhow, here's where I stand: boxed up the turbo piping for now and threw in a stout Lunati cam, wrapped up a set of fbody headers and switched up to an Autokraft pan. Got the vaporware tank installed with a 5th gen camaro pump and a single line to the front. I used Carl Casanova's tank harness up to the front. Got the PCM mounted and am currently working the rad and fans...bled the brakes...probably forgot a bunch. I will be going back to turbo once I get it running as I have the CTS-V fuel pump in a box on my shelf. I will still have to get Carl's PWM controller for the pump...all in due time.
Oh btw, the headers in the pic are for sale because they don't fit with the Autokraft pan unfortunately.
As for the color, I am actually thinking of staying with the Saffron yellow...it is so sleeperish and ugly I love it!!!
Enjoy the pics!!!

Here's and interesting fact...because I upgraded the rear in my 84 cutlass race car a while back from a 7.5" rear to a 8.5" rear I had to shorten the driveshaft one inch. Well, it just so happens that because I am using the 4L60e and a 12 bolt rear the stock length drive shaft from an a body is shortened 3 inches and is exactly the same size as the one I had!!! Direct drop in! Curious thing though is that I cannot seem to locate a decent set of u Joint girdles...the jegs ones don't even remotely fit. Any assistance would be appreciate there.

Hey John, thanks for your interest! I hope to have her fired up this weekend. I have been working an awful lot at "work" work and my free time at home has been working on the house. I try to get a few hours in on her each weekend. Trans cooler is mounted and I have to mount up the lines to that. Once that is done I am going to mount the fans and final mount the rad - all this will only take a few hours. Once that's done, I. Have like 5 more wires inside to hook up and then it is go time. I am praying she fires on the first kick, but I am an engineer by trade so it would seem some of the obsessiveness I have to exhibit in my daily work life is spilling into this car. My first pro-touring car, a '78 Trans Am, I got everytng together rather quickly and it turned out nice, but there were things I just didn't like on it so it sold. Almost immediately after selling I got to work on this car but I am doing everything I didn't like right on th is one. Luckily I. Am not wasting as much money, but it takes longer.
Plus....and don't tell anyone I told ya this, but I went a little nuts on the credit cards and am recouperating from that....lol
I should have her running soon naturally aspirated and plan to enjoy her that way for a bit. Once I get her all painted and the body work completed then I will spring for the better wheels. Once I get the better wheels I may go back and upgrade the suspension a little more with SC&C stuff but I am not there yet. Ultimately, I am hoping by late next year, early 2013 I would like to get an Edelbrock or Magnuson for it...or maybe I will bit the bullit on a turbo........but then again a 454 LSX is not out of th question either! Hahaha.....
Thanks again...I will be posting some mo pics this weekend!
