Which mufflers have fellow g-body installed on their lowered vehicles? Where did you install them- fore or aft of the axle? I'm considering a 2.5" 409SS exhaust system and need to start thinking about mufflers. Sound is more important than performance- no crackling, minimum droning are important since this is a street car and I have two toddlers to tote around.

Thanks in advance.

My project: '84 MCSS, 2001 LS1, 1.75" mid-length headers, no other performance mods or goals, 4L60E, complete SC&C stage 2 (haven't received wheels or installed suspension system, yet so ride height is unknown), Iceman X-member

I recommend an x-pipe with Magnaflows, before the axle. There's no room after.

Torque Tech makes a mandrel bent 3" system that routes to the stock location, to the bumper or behind rear wheels like the GN.

Which mufflers are you guys using- specifically which inlet and outlet configuration?

I have new-in-box stainless Magnaflows with 3" center inlet and center outlet. I think 3" is overkill for my application. Although I already have these mufflers, I don't think it's wise to design my exhaust around them.

You'll want to use offset in / offset out.

I've user center in/offset out and offset in/offset out before. Both in 3". It really all depends on if you make the system yourself or go with pre bent pipes. The center in/offset out I used with Pypes 3" tail pipes.

Like this or in/out on same side?

A shop will fabricate the system. Thanks for the feedback, all.
