It was a good weekend for the Finch brand as Mark Turners Kryptonite car was selected as the finalist for the Goodguys Muscle Machine of the year.
I also won the Street Machine class in the Autocross with the same car beating my best time in my second gen by a tenth of a second. When they cut off the competition runs at 3:30 I actually held the fastest time overall beating out Kyle Tucker on my last competition run of the day. This did not hold out long as Kyle came back a man with a mission besting my time on the very last run of the day before they closed the track. The crowd was huge and were loving the back and forth, Congrats to Kyle for taking the bragging rights in the end.
One car to mention was the blue Chevelle from Ridetech with Bret behind the wheel. He was able to get that big car to within a couple tenth's of the top times and made some people sweat. The car looked great and was planted to the asphalt.

Congrats!
Dad said that he had a blast. I was at home for the little girl's 1st B-day. No regrets there, but I hear I missed out on some great fun.
Oh - and some good ole fashion "thrashing" to get the Vette together
;)

Your dad was the hero of the weekend. He stayed until 4:30 AM Friday at my house helping on the Vette and Kryptonite then was under Kyles second gen Friday night helping change out the transmission that locked up that morning.
Without his help several of us would not have had the weekend we did.

I second that. It was obvious that you could build cars that work. I think everyone knew that. But after seeing the Kryptonite car, I saw that you can build something that looks as good as it runs. If only you were a little closer. I sure could use you for a few weekends.
Great job on the car, and congrats for the win.

He was loving every minute of it!!!!!
I think he was a little whipped on Friday night though. That is pretty much my old man in a nutshell. I've yet to meet a better guy!!!!!!
I'm glad it all worked out for everyone. I wish I could have been along to help out.

Thanks for reminding me of the quote from Mark. That was funny as hell when he got out of the car.

I need to get some nice photo's of the car to post on the build thread but these will work for now. This car actually looks better in person than it does on camera.
Since these were taken we have lowered the car another 3/4 of an inch and install a perfect Anvil full Carbon hood which resolved a few fitment issues.
The car still has less than 150 miles on it, so for it to handle the way it does out of the box really makes a statement about the quality of the parts and the build overall.

Congrats on the Muscle Machine of the year nomination! I hope to see you and the car at Scottsdale in November a couple weeks after SEMA/Optima. Speaking of Optima, I was talking with Ryan from DSE over at Goodguys Costa Mesa and we were wondering if the event will just end up being the Brian Finch Ultimate Street Car Invitational :lmao:How many invites have you collected so far?

nice piece, that car looked super smooth going thru the autocross, where alot of cars that ran a good time sounded really wound up, this car sounded like it was barely working, must be a really torquey motor. like was said earlier, the car looks better in person and in the sun. great job!

Just some minor fitment issues. We could have lived with them but Matt from Anvil made sure we were taken care of and had the best stuff for a car of this caliber. That is where customer service seperates the companies that really care from the ones trying to make as much $$$ as possible.

Even if it handled like a dog and the engine let go on the first run, you'd still be damn proud stoof next to it. It's lurrrrvely.
Love the stance.

Builders take note..Brian is the new guy on the block to compete with. This was an awesome build and a satisfied customer. Unlike some other builders, Brian truly cares about customer satisfaction and quality workmanship. Congrads Brian on the autocross win and the nomination. Nashville was a blast and the wild ride in the vet. This weekend should be as much fun. Those of you not making these events do not know what you are missing. Be good to see all the rat pack together this weekend.
