Has anyone used one of these set ups? They claim 40 to 60 hp gain due to a 1.5% cooler charge of the air. Is it worth the $527.00. It sure looks cool. I have a 1968 camaro with a zz430 clone. Think this will put me at the 450hp mark?

If you compare their stuff to a stock GM air filter assembly you'd probably see a gain like that. But compared to other aftermarket (open) air filters, there won't be nearly as much of a boost.

If you plumb it for ram air (to the grille or headlight sockets) you'd see more gain at speed, as the air is being forced in. But that'd take a bit more effort.

40-60 horses is a LOT. I think that's a bit much, but these setups do look cool and (with ram air) they do work well- certainly better than any factory underhood air filter, and better than a typical open element filter setup. Maybe not 40-60 hp better, but I'd bet you wouldn't lose power by adding it. If you box in the cone filters behind the grille, your engine will have to draw in nothing but cool air, and if you're moving more than 40-50 mph there should be real benefit to it.
