For anyone that doesn't know already, Larry and Susan's wedding is next weekend.
Several of us have gotten together and come up with a way for those that would like to participate to be involved in a group gift. There will be a link here tommorrow or Thursday that will allow you to donate to the wedding fund. All money donated will be given to Larry and Susan. We think that rather than try to buy something, we will just give them the cash. Nobody ever returns cash. It will be thru Paypal and will be a $10 donation with the ability to pick your quanity. That way you can donate $10 or $1000. I ask that if you do donate, you also pm Ralph so we will have a check and balance on who exactly gave. If someone wants to participate but is not set up with paypal, pm me and we will have another way for you to be involved. This is our first attempt at a "virtial groom wedding shower".
Larry has done so much for us and continues to work tirelessly to keep everything going. He really doesn't want us to do this but we have temporarly highjacked the forum-lol
Please, we do not want anyone to feel this is in any way an obligation. We just wanted to give those who wanted to the chance to be involved. I personally hope we get enough to send them on a dream honeymoon!
Whether you donate or not, lets make this the offical congrats thread for the happy couple.

Let me be the first-Larry and Susan, have a great wedding and congradulations!

I used to beleive this, but after spending the last 9 years with my wife I now understand why the sex stops: because men generally stop paying attention to their wives after a while. Think about it, most of us get pretty bored with the same old thing fairly quickly, so the challenge is for the man to maintain the relationship by spending time loving his wife every day! Trust me, it really works, and if you don't believe it ask Dr. Phil. I've been there, done that with the marriage that went bad, not this time though, I am tending my garden on a daily basis!

Tony,
Good to hear it, a happy marriage is worth the sacrifices both sides make in order to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Of course teenagers are a different story, my 15 & 17 year olds are killing us right now... :poke: :spank2: :banghead:

Jake,
When I send the money to Larry, I will include a list of who participated, however there will be no amounts listed just one check. The fact is there have been a couple donations already that I am not sure who they are. Please pm me if you donate useing a different name than your pen name here.
Thanks,

Sweet idea on the gift link. I hope they go somewhere special, like a tour of the Indy Motor Speedway complex, or maybe Daytona... you know, something classy. At least they can buy 2-3 beers at a mid-grade bar with my added contribution...

I know you say that in jest, but do you realize what the total would be if every member gave just $5? They could do Indy and Daytona both! :lmao:
There has been a rush on donations today-Thanks everyone.

Bill,

I am new to the board and do not know Larry or Susan but think your efforts are commendable. I will make up the difference for the shortage to get you to $1000. Also, I want to buy a few shirts from you. The site has the shirts, but no link or info on how to actually order. Give me a call and I will give you my credit card info or tell me where to send a check. Needless to say, if we go the check route you will not get before your Saturday cut off. I shot you an email with my work number.

Regards,

Rube1966

I am new here also but agree with Rube, this is commendable and considering the posts thus far speaks highly of not only the membership but of Larry as well.

Congratulations to the happy couple, Larry and Susan. I don't know you but I wish you all the happiness in the world. My wife and I just celebrated 12 years and the only thing I can say is that if you are as happy as we are in your life then you are lucky indeed. Good luck guys!

Larry and Susan should be at the rehersal dinner about now. Just a quick reminder that tommorrow is the cutoff for the group wedding gift donation. As of about 10 minutes ago, we have raised $1712. I am so proud of this guys and I am sure it will go a long way to making their honeymoon special.
This is a special thanks to everyone that took the time and made a donation. At first, I hoped we would get to $1000 then the goal was $1500. Now I just smile everytime I check paypal.
Thanks again everyone,
Bill

BTW: This total represents donations by 80 different people

Small thanks for all of Larrys efforts to build and maintain this board as a priceless resource for all to enjoy. No membership dues, so special access areas for "members only", group discounts set up with PT.com attached to them, and the list goes onnnnn. Susan has had to put up with all of Larrys late night scripting repair missions, bug diagnosis, and moderation duties, SHE MUST BE AN ANGEL!
