I know this topic gets beat to hell but I have been researching this for a week and still dont know what to order. I know what I need for flow but I am having a heck of a time deciding which pump to run. I am ready to plumb a fuel system in my Camaro project. 700hp seems to be a breaking point for a lot of pumps, I choose a smaller pump and run on the verge of being not enough or choose a bigger pump and have overkill with noise and heat. for example, the Aeromotive pumps, the "700HP" pump is good up to 700 and the "A1000" is way to big. I have considered both of those and also the Mallory 110FI, and the Barry Grant Mighty Sumo. I have a Ricks tank with a sump and will run an inline pump out of the tank with a return but with the regulator at the back with only a single -8 to the front. I will drive my car long distance at times and dont want the problems I here about with heat and reliability. I dont want to have to put a controller in if I dont have to, would like to keep it simple if I can. Sorry for yet another FP question but if I have 500hp or 800hp it would be very clear but 700 seems to be right in the middle of alot of good pumps. thanks for the help guys.

I run 2 gss340 walbro in tank pumps and have it set up that one pump runs all the time and the second pump kicks on when fuel pressure drops with a hobbs switch . 3 3/8 line going to a 1/2 to the engine

I was also going to suggest dual intank Walbros.
I have yet to hear a quiet non-annoying external pump but I haven't been around many either.

I have used a single Walbro 255lph to make 532whp on a turbocharged 3.5 V6 pushing 18psi of boost. A naturally aspirated engine will require less fuel pump than a force induction engine. Two of the walbros would work just fine.

You could potentially wire a throttle switch to switch on a relay at
about 75% or more throttle to control the second pump.

Too much pump will just require a larger regulator and will heat the fuel. Being able to shut off the secondary pump would be beneficial.

FWIW the similar non EFI pressure Mallory pumps are pretty quiet.

I also was wondering what the Mallory 110 FI could handle HP wise.
