Hi everyone,

I recently got motivated to finish a project that has been almost ten years in the making. All the puzzle pieces are finally starting to fall into place and the project is now more feasible. I have contacted Nelson Michael to make me some preliminary sketches of a new mustang body based on the iconic 66 fastback. Your critique and constructive criticism is welcome, but it will not be for everyone. It is always tough to keep the classic lines while updating the feel. It needs to be a 66 fastback with some updated touches. That being said, the side and 3/4 views will come when I have paired the front and rear that I like. These designs are simply concepts and can be mixed, matched, or scrapped completely. On a side note it has been a pleasure working with Nelson and I hope anyone with a desire to get sketches and work done will consider him. Take a look and let me know.

Numbering them:
1 2
3 4

I like #1 rear, maybe with #4 exhaust. Front is #3 all the way.

Are you putting a glass roof like the 05-10 Mustangs?

2nd row left side for rear and 4th row left side for the front. Also bring the turn signals on the air dam up under the headlights. Narrow the upper grill area by a couple of inchs.

"Are you putting a glass roof like the 05-10 Mustangs?"

That is the tentative plan. I am liking how the glass roof mustangs at the shop look and they have a lot of retro flair.

"I think you should convert this into a hatchback with t tops and put suicide exhaust on it. "

Side exhaust is a possability but it is a bit to race for the look im going for. I was going to do a standard roof but have it removable completely. That is still an option I am exploring.

If you do center exhaust what do you plan for the gas tank? fuel cell, something custom split?

Rear... top left, clean and still modern.
Front... bottom left with the functional vents from the top right, move the lcd turn signals to the rearward/outboard pair of vents. This view is like an updated "R" style frontend.

I like 3, both front and rear

Ditto the 3,3 combo. #2 is a little too much of a "tuner" vibe for a classic Stang...

I am being influenced by the crowd, but the 3,3 combo is pretty sweet. I like aspects of all of them. I love the idea of Center mount exhaust though.

Ya, I think 3/3 follows the stock lines the best without looking like an '05

Beautiful perspective on your sketches, you've been to art school.

More great ideas. You have got too many good options to choose from. Nelson has gotten a couple of my line drawings done and is working on my color stuff now. He has a great knack for taking my ideas in words and putting them down onto paper. I like where you are going with yours.
