I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions on improving the aerodynamics on my 1969 amc amx and how good or bad they are stock?

read the articles linked in the other aero thread- the one about the vortex generators and what not.

Good advice, Then remember that most 60's-70's cars create a lot of lift in the front. That is why people said they wandered at higher speeds.

After you read those other threads see if you have any specific questions we can help you with.

Read Mark Donohue's book, "The Unfair Advantage" (if for no other reason!). There is a whole chapter on what they did to the 70-71 Javelins to make them Trans-Am winners.

My understanding a stock bodied 68 & 69 AMX has a CD of .54 , not bad for it's day .
I pushed my AMX to a certified 180mph at the Silver State in May 2000 with 500hp & 450+ftp , 401 , Richmond ROD 6spd , Dana 20 with 3.15:1 rear , final drive 2.38:1 , 24.5" tall tires and to smoothe out the car .......... a front air damn & side skirts + about 40ft of red , white & blue duct tape to smooth the edges and help keep anything from falling off .
A big help for keeping the front end down at high speed ........... a 2 to 4 degree rake and the air damn helps keep the dirty air (turbulance) from under the car

You can find pics all over the net , AMX-perience.com , click on Silver State cars , click on "Thumper" , there are some on this site (somewhere) AMX search " Does anyone know who owns this AMX" , I'll figure out how to load some when I do my PT Garage .
