We are doing a high school PT project (67 Camaro) we are getting ready to do the motor, (balancing) the motor is 2 pieace style, we were wondering which flywheel to use. Also if anyone has any info for the best price clutch, pressure plate set up for this match, please let us know, as our budget is tight. Thanks Bob 623-326-7114

If you are using a T56 from a 93-97 F body you will need a centerforce flywheel, PN 700107, with a matched LT1 pull style clutch. I recommend McLeod for all my clutches though.

Thanks Tyler I figured youd chime in, This is a high school project, and we were looking for cheaper alternative, we didnt want to sell the motor and build a newer style block, but we have more time then money. Our options seem to be limited. it seems the car is built around the tranny...hahah..oh by the way Im using your car as my avatar on a music web site I run. Hows you molds comming?

Molds are done. Parts are finished and primered. I will not be selling them until 50/50 is finished.

The flywheel PN I gave you is for a 2pc rear main seal, using a T56. It is around $370.

Ive got an LT1 style T56 in mine, and I use a billet steel flywheel from Triton, that I modded by machining reliefs for the flywheel bolts to countersink into. For the clutch, I use an old style dual friction. For the hyd. clutch actuation, I use a hyd clutch conversion T.O. bearing. I think it was from Mcleod...

bob, i also replied in for sale section, but mcleod is the way to go, they have a 153 tooth flywheel for the 2 pc rear main chevy blocks to a Lt1 style t-56 for 248 bucks thru summit, mcleods clutch is same money as centerforce's but might as well go all mcleod. tyler turned me onto that also, tyler did you know mcleod had one??? is there a problem with it?? just wondering why you turned me onto there clutches but not the flywheel, its sfi also.
tyler i am gonna be calling for a kit soon, need to fill my pockets with cash again after hydroboost and t-56 purchase

Jake-

I use centerforce flywheels because I 'thought' they were less expensive. In my McLeod catalog it shows the 2pc rear with an LT1 clutch at $445.00
Let me know when you need a kit, as they are flying off the shelf with the new site being launched!!

yeah i bet it is 445 retail, i called summit and spoke with a guy, he called mcleod to verify, and they did, i was amazed, so i figure go with there whole set-up, there clutch is no more than centerforce's. you say they hold as well as centerforce's??? thanks for the info,,
as soon as i get the money your kit is next
