I plan to do mine on my 70 bird. I only done it once and a truck and it took alot of time and measuring (This is the most important part if you want it done right). As long as you brace and cut right you will be fine. it might take another person to help you. Some huge clamps work well too.

I plan to do it myself(70 bird).I always over kill on the bracing. Then take alot of measurements. I went once to a shop to get a quote and it was high in the 4 figures. I worked as a welder doing metal work and frames. So I plan to do all the metal work. I don't know when I plan to take on the roof, but when i do I will have pics and will help ya out if you need it.

I had to do it on my 68 chevelle. After I ripped off the vinyl top it was heavily pitted and rusted in the drip rails and all over the roof. I bought a 68 parts car for $200. I then cut the roof off of the parts car and went to my dads work, which is a Gm Dealership. The body guys let me help out and taught me all the correct ways to do it. The car is now done and nobody can tell. Check out the pics in my vbgarage.

any roof will work, but if you have to go into the back window area then it wont work.
