Has anyone made a bracket to mount a factory style hood hinges?
I have glass fenders that I want to use but dont have a way to mount hood hinges. Any ideas? pics?

Do you have a fiberglass hood? Steel header panel?

I know of way that work but it isn't easy.

You can also do it like a nascar hood very easily because of the way the cowl and the fenders have the body line in just the right place to make it have a piece to pivot on and hide all at the same time. It doesn't take much to hold a fiberglass hood.

Factory hinges weigh a ton.

Jeff Schwarz's Mustang has the nascar looking hinges but what I am thinking of is a bit different but not by much.

I will have to post up a pic of my setup again so you can see it, you might have to put a steel header panel on to do it but the wieght difference is minimal.

You really have to have hood pins with a fiberglass hood or brace it underneath to keep it from bowing up at speed. I had to add more on mine.

I am putting front inner fenders in and will be posting up some pics that will include the hood hinges more than likely.

Sorry for the delay, I have been busy.

Thanks for the info.... The hood I have has mounts for hood hinges.

I was thinking of building some core support brackts from the firewall fwd to the core support, kinda like what the front fenders do. Then just building off that for some stock hinges and also some mounts for the fiberglass inners....
