I was searching around the www for some articles on putting sound deadener in the doors of my F350 CC but can't seem to find any. I am trying to cut down on road and engine noise. I have some dyno mat extreme but not enough to do the whole truck. I figured I would start with doors and use what I have then go with some products from Second skin seems how they help out on the site. Is it best to do as much as you can reach inside the door then do under the door panel as well?

For best results you want to cover the outer skin. Check this out:

That definitely answered my questions. What is the best way to clean/prep the metal before sticking the deadener on? In one of the articles they mention using a spray but don't give a brand name or what to buy.

quick-drying, residue-free solvent.

Prep-All wax & grease remover is what I have used.

I used a ton (almost literally) of both Damplifier Pro and Luxury Liner Pro from Second Skin in my most recent project. The Damplifier Pro is peel and stick, and sticks to ANYTHING! The Luxury Liner doesn't go in doors, but it uses spray on adhesive.

BTW, I'm very very happy with the results.
