Trying to pick the perfect engine.69 Camaro

replacing 302DZ w new crate engine. The choices are a 376 LSX or a LS3,,what is the best option? and why?

i think it all depends on what your looking to spend and what your plan is to do with the car..

Unless you're planning big nitrous or big blower/turbo,......I'm not sure why you'd want the iron-block 376 LSX over an aluminum block LS3.
The 376 uses the LS3 heads, and if you go with fuel injection over carburetion, it uses the LS3 intake and ECU, right? Sounds like an LS3 with an iron block. :)

EDIT: so yeah, not crystal clear, but I'd say save the weight and choose the LS3. :)

Ya sorry about my lack of knowledge and tech terms about engines, not the most knowledgable about engines. Im putting together a PT 69 camaro and just want to fastest most effecient motor that $5k-7.5k will buy. I am planning on using it for street mostly but will def. be taking to the track 1-2 a month.
