I have a 69 camaro that will have a 396 or 427 big block and either a 4-speed or t56. I have the 4-speed already that was in the car when I bought it and was wondering if I left it in and made my custom console would my shift location be o.k. where the 4-speed was to where if change to a t56 or should I save for the t56 and get it before the custom console is made? I hope that this makes sense so if anyone can help me with this would great. Also, does anyone know the link that used to be on the older pro-touring site under one thread for trans. that let you know what the RPM, speed, and tire size that you have when running a t56 trans.?

Thanks,

The 4spd and T56 shifter locations are different. If you plan to use a modified tailshaft with a dog bone on the shifter, you can come real close to the 4 spd hole.

I'd wait and do the T56 and 454 at the same time. Check my website for the easy way to swap in a T56. Just click on the green car.
