Are you guys using the standard head location for your heater hose, or going to the intake (water crossover) next to the thermostat housing?

I got my Kauffman heads this week and the heater outlet on each head is threaded to accept either a pipe plug or a 5/8" heater nipple.

I have a fitting on my intake next to the thermostat that is unused, should I use that, or the back of the head? Is one more efficient than the other (hotter/colder)?

I know it's a seemingly simple question, but they make such a big deal about the sensitivity of the Gen IV that I want it to be right due to the heater bypass valve being right there. The Camaro's are on the intake and that is what the inx are for.

Use the fitting at the back of the head for your heater line and the one in the manifold for your temp sender. I don't think you want heater hose running all over the top of the motor, right?:)

No, but it would easily run next to the other one from the water pump to the pass side inner fender.

I should clarify, my Hurricane intake manifold has two pipe fittings in the crossover, one on the right (occupied by temp sensor), one on the left of the thermostat, filled with a pipe plug. I can use the one on the left, ala Chevy, or the one in the back of the head.

I'll just use the normal location unless I hear a compelling reason not to.
