Hello All,
I wanted to share with you an exciting project we been working on... This project started after one of our customers had been attending many Goodguys shows with a Willys we built for her... She (yes she) became very interested in the Autocross events and wanted to build a car she could compete with. Gerry always liked the early style Chevy IIs so the search began.. Shortly after looking we found a great car to begin the build with and quickly picked it up and brought it to the shop.. Knowing how this car needed to handle and perform we called our friends at The Roadster Shop to design and build a chassis to fit our needs.. We had the car soda blasted then quickly disassembled the car and "The Runt" began to come to life..

The next step was to get the chassis married to the car and start building the floors, fire wall, wheel tubs and transmission tunnel...

The chassis was designed so we can run a 255/35/18 front tire and a 335/30/18 rear tire... Once the mock up wheels were bolted on the attitude of the car really came to life..

The Runt looks pretty tough with the way it sits. Beautiful work. Any chance it will be done for the Goodguys show in Columbus in July? :yum:

The heart of the runt is a Mast Motorsports LS3 making 600 plus hp... Its mated to a Tremic Magnum six speed trans.. We fabricated a set of inner fenders, fan shroud ,rad support cover and other panels to give the engine compartment a clean flowing look..

We are running the new G Machine throttle wheels from Billet Specialties... What an awesome product.. Here are some pics of the bumpers we massaged to fit nice and tight against the body..

LOL...building it too quickly for it to rust?...how do you guys keep all that bare metal from flashing.....I can't leave anything overnight without a sealer or primer on it or it will flash.

Wow that's low, is that final ride height?
Cool build, even cooler its for a woman hot rodder.

A few more pics.... Here are the consoles we made for the car.. The front houses the start/stop button, brake bias knob and the vintage air controls... The car will retain the back seat, the bottoms will be buckets... For increased tire/turning clearance we cut apart the front fenders and opened up the front wheel opening an inch.. We also made a lower spoiler for the front bumper..

Thanks! Congrats on the big win last weekend! Car looked good! We took out the bottom end of the motor in the Camaro in the second lap of the autocross.... Ended up finishing good though especially for not scoring in the autocross or getting back out after lunch to try to improve any of our times... Motors out and getting rebuilt.. Can you say Dry Sump??

LOL...Photobucket is ok for a few pics and bandwidth, but you'll need the paid subscription if you keep up the pace that you have in this thread...LOL
(BTW, I had to switch over to the paid subscription too) I had been hosting pics on a welding site for other people and ate up all of my bandwidth.
