View Full Version : Where to buy LS3 intake manifold bolts??

Does anyone know of a good source for purchasing intake manifold bolts? The LS3 intake manifold I purchased did not come with the bolts, and the local dealer does not have them in stock, and they also seem a bit pricey (~$18 a pop). Not sure if anyone else knows were to purchase them, I just haven't had any luck in finding a source.

Thanks,

~ Jason

I ended up going with stainless socket head bolts from McMaster Carr. $12 for ten of them. 6mm (1mm pitch) by 120mm length

I believe those bolts are torque to yield. I wouldn't replace them with standard bolts.

I've used standard bolts on all of my LS builds, no problems yet, even in boosted applications. Good point though, but I have not had any issues.

Torqu to yield intake manifold bolts? Not sure if that is true, but even if it was I would completely ignore it. At those prices quoted I would go with some generic metric bolts as well.

I hadn't heard that they were torque to yield like the head bolts either, but since I don't know................... :) Just threw my two cents in that regular bolts seem to work fine for me, with both stock intakes and aftermarket sheetmetal units.

Thank you for the response; appreciate you taking the time to answer the neverending stream of them. As to the TTY bolts, I will do some digging, but also hadn't heard anything to that effect. Unless I come across something to show this being a big concern, I think I'll go with standard bolts, also.
