So, here is the start of the project, Old School. Coming from a 05 STi, with full suspension and a tune giving 320hp and 370tq, to something like this is a different ball game.

I miss this car

My objective of this great car, is to convert it to a low-mid budget pro-touring car. As well as fixing the interior back to its original state too.

So here is the list of parts:

Suspension & Brakes

Global West Control Arms
Global West Sub-frame connectors
Hotchkis TVS Suspension
C6 Z51 Brakes
Kore3 Brake Kit
AGR Steering Box
Boss 338 - 245/40/18 & 285/35/18
Odds and ends needed to accomplish all of the above.

Engine

Currently - SBC 350 with a TH350 behind it.
Future - LQ9 with LS2 heads
Cams, Rockers, etc added.
Pypes 2.5" Exhaust

As for interior

ProCar Bucket seats
New Dash
Autometer American Muscle gauges
Covan Gauge Cluster
Carpet
Floor Pans

To the pictures.

1st night in the garage, bought it in White Plains, NY and drove it home that day.

Did you just order the brackets from Kore3?

I have a full set of Z51 brakes off my Corvette that I plan on putting on a Nova.

I ordered them a long time ago. Just been gathering parts for the car so when I do all of this I can do it in one shot.

Call Tobin at Kore3, he is great with all the brake info.

So a small update.

My B-day is this Saturday :D, and I thought that as a present I should get the following in order to finish up the most important things with the car.

Here is the list....

AGR Steering box
Global West Upper Control Arms
Hotchkiss Front and Rear Shocks
Hotchkiss TVS
Summit Distribution Block
Wilwood MC

According to Mr. Brown, everything will be delivered tomorrow woot!

Small update.

So after going through 10ft of 3/16 line, i managed to get the lines right.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

I never thought it would be that difficult, but one wrong bend or length and you have to start all over again. :machine:

I then painted the rear and the leaf brackets (which i just saw the pictures and missed painting the edges HAHAHA) I used SEM Rust Shield, very easy to use.

My next hurdle is cutting the stupid ghetto frame connectors that the other owner did.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

I went through several discs and all, and managed to put a dent on the welding.
What would be the best way to tackle this? Once I remove these connectors I can repaint the rear frame at least, before I start putting all the suspension back up.

Thank you guys.

Yes so hopefully this week or next week I'll have the subframe connectors off.

I am debating if to buy all new Posi unit or finding a used/new unit and get new bearings etc.

Hopefully before the winter comes, I'll have the car ready. I have a lot of work ahead, but my wife and I are pregnant so I kinda went into saving mode.

So a year later we have an update :).

But here is the most recent things going.

So ths summer I had the frame blasted and I painted it once I got it back. I then had help from a friend and bolted on the front suspension.

GW LCA with the Hotchkis springs and shocks. BE CAREFUL as the Hotchkis shocks are not a direct fitment to the nuts of the GW LCA. As you can see below.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

But after filing off the ends of the T-Bar and test fitting every now and then, I managed to get the shocks to fit with no problem.

We then started putting the Kore3 brake setup. These would hold a set of C6 Z51 calipers and rotors as well.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

Everything together.

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

The wheels were then test fitted, and ran into a small problem where I need a small spacer. More information here (https://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?66150-Need-a-favor-Anyone-with-Boss-338-wheels-and-C6-calipers&p=824283#post824283)

So while I wait for the parts to arrive, I decided it was time to fix the firewall.

Full of cable
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

No cables, but lots of work to be done.
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

So there. I hope this time it would not take a full year to update with more progress.

I have started working on the firewall

Work in progress
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

Work had to stop as the grinder wanted some plastic for lunch :D
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

So during this week I will be removing the dash, steering column and I am going to throw away the wire harness and install a new AAW harness.
