I'm stuck on deciding between the new t4 kit (monoblock 4 piston) from baer compare and Superlite 6R 13''/6piston Big Brake Front Brake Kit.

It'll be on a daily driver with some track use and I'm not familiar enough with either companies and not experienced with brakes to decide.

I did some searches on the companies and it's like "apples to oranges" debates.

If anyone wants to chime in, let me hear it or acknowledge me. I know that on my 2005 subaru, it had some piston brembos on there... but like I said... dont know too much about brakes.

If you are wiling to spend the money I would do the superlite system. or you could just do a good old C5/C6 corvette setup.

Shoot I have a set sitting here

I think I'm going to go with the Sl-6 on the fronts.

Good choice! I am sure you will be happy with the SL 6 brake kit on the front... Wilwood is my first choice on brake conversion kits @ my shop..

If you want to do a C5 setup don't forget I have a set of front and rears plus I live in Chico so you could check em' out and I would giva you a hand installing them...the biggest advantage to running a C5 or C6 setup is if/when you need replacement parts they are readily available at almost any partshouse, unlike other kits...just something to ponder...

Go with the C5 set up for these reasons:

1. Used OE parts are much cheaper
2. GM parts are easy to find in junkyards, on craigslist, and on eBay
3. Original GM parts are engineered by a team of experienced GM engineers, and since the C5 are Corvette brakes they are arguably the best engineers at GM. They are not “engineered” by some guys in their garage like the aftermarket stuff...we are talking brakes after all!
4. GM parts must pass a full battery of GM strength, durability, corrosion, and effectiveness tests before they are put on your car, they are therefore less likely to fail prematurely, break, corrode, fit loosely, etc. Does the aftermarket do anything to test their parts? I doubt it, except for maybe a few test drives. And many of their parts and materials are sourced from China Im sure
5. GM parts will be easy to service many years in the future cause the parts will still be available, they will always offer parts for old C5 Corvettes, even at the local parts store (can’t say the same for most of the aftermarket parts, who knows if they will still be around in a few years when you need parts like brake pads, or a caliper bolt). Where are you going to buy brake pads in 10 years?

Good luck

I am going to go with C5 brakes on mine for a lot of the above reasons. In particular, the ease of finding replacement parts. Sometimes its just easier to go with OEM parts, at least in my opinion.
