Im not trying to find a job on here. I live in Bend, OR and I've lived hear almost my whole life. I want to experience life somewhere else. Being a gearhead its fairly hard for me to pack up and move to the otherside of the country. I would have to move a lot of stuff. I mean who knows when that spare door or rear axle would come in handy?

Im asking for your help in giving me some direction to the places I should check out. I went to kool april nights last year and redding seems promising. Im not a fan of cities much larger. If you take a look at my garage you can see my car and anything that has been modified I did. I'm going to upload some new pics after this.

Basically what I'm asking is for your input on businesses and people to talk to. Does anyone know of a good fab shop, speed shop, hot rod mechanic or a place to check out?

Let me know how far you are willing to move and we'll go from there.

Hi Greg, I used to live in CA and forgot about that Redding, I've even been there haha. I'm glad that I got out of CA 25 years ago, living in the Charlotte area is PT heaven for me.

Hard for me to forget. I grew up in Portland, lived in SoCal for 22 years. When I drove back to Portland for Christmas, if the Siskyous were closed we'd grab a room in Redding or RedBluff and wait for first light to crossover the pass.

Living in Detroit is ummmm, different.

I was talking about Redding, CA. The biggest down side I see for redding is that its in California.

I'm willing to move as far as it takes to find a good city. Bend and most or Oregon has been overtaken by Californians. They are all the Yuppie "I ride bicycles on the road with a group and can't use the bicycle lane", or granola or tree huggers. I have a possible line on Lake Havasu, AZ. Thats supposed to be a pretty good city.

I would much rather stay close(within a few hundred miles) so I can still keep in touch. However if the Northwest is really no good for a PT guy then I'm out.

Jump on the people mover after dark for some fun and entertainment. Also being um..prepared..would be advisable.

I'm sure it's much better now though! Former Lake Orion resi.

Arizona is an awesome state but it is going to get sucked up by the tree hugging, forclosed on, CA snobs.

Like I said before, the Mooresville (Rce City USA) area is awesome and zMAX Dragstrip and Lowe's Motor Speedway are only thirty miles away. There are several companies that are all about Pro Touring, Detroit Speed being just one of them plus hundreds of race and engine shops. I live in the Mooresville area at Lake Norman.
Your welcome to come visit anytime.

I didnt realize there was a city with that nickname. More so, I didnt realize that a city with so many racing companies can be in such a small town. I would love to get over to the midwest or south.

I think your right about where Havasu is going. Californians have invaded Oregon so it makes sense for them to do it to Arizona. I heard they have the highest abduction rate. The one good note they have is with the recent bill or whatever. Now cops are allowed to ask to check for illegals.

I think Im going to start looking East. Im not sure about from coast to coast though. Somewhere around the rockies would work. That way I wouldnt have to plan a vacation to visit friends. Although if I could land a good job I would go almost anywhere.

Whats it like being around all the racing? Its gotta be sweet to be surrounded by people who love cars and can respect them for what they do.

Mooresville has a population of 30,000, it became the place to live for all of the NASCAR stars because it is located on Lake Norman, the lake is 32,500 acres, has a shoreline of 520 miles, is 34 miles long by 8 miles wide and is 130 ft. deep at it's deepest point, there are several other cities that are on the lake, Davidson-30,000 pop, Cornelius-20.00 pop, Lincolnton, Denver, Troutman and more. Besides the roundy rounders there are 6 NHRA Pro Stock teams in the areas around the lake and a Fuel team (Bob Tasca) 30 miles away. Mooresville has a cruise in/car show the first Saturday of the month and weekly 1/8 mile drag racing at Mooresville drag strip. Have you heard of the Gear Jammers ?, they race a circuit in the region and it's all stick shift, wheels up racing !.
p.s., have your freinds move here, haha
Well my fingers are getting tired so I'll quit bending you ear for now.
