Don't know if we have any runners on the site (I think Fast Mary does) but the wife and I just finished the La Jolla 1/2 Marathon with a gun time of 2:07. We started together and finished holding hands. So nice.

I'm just getting back into it after taking about 3 years off since my oldest son was born. I started running again this past fall and am currently training to return to triathlons this summer.

The 1/2 marathon is my favorite distance. It is long enough to have to pace yourself a little, but still short enough to actually race it.

Keep up the good work. It's nice to have something both of you can enjoy and according to your finish, enjoy together.

Farthest timed event I have run up to this point was a 10K. I will be doing a half marathon this summer with hopes of training for a half ironman next.

Been running all my life. My brother was in HS track and I was just getting into Jr High. I would run with him all the time, that's what got me hooked. I took fourth in the State private schools meet 400 my junior year. That wouldn't be that impressive if it was a public school event though.
I now love the trails, parkour, and scrambling.

I never stopped running after high school. I usually do the half marathon in Huntington Beach every February. I tried the full marathon once, but that actually requires dedicated training, so I stuck to the more casual stuff. I was recently in a bit of a karting accident that tweaked my knee, so I haven't run in 6 weeks now and I'm feeling generally terrible. I'll get back into it soon though.

I think running is a good way to get a better sense of empathy for one's car.

LOL, I just do it so I can eat what I want without getting fat.

Try swimming. I didn't know how to swim very well before I joined the Navy, I could get across a pool fine but never swam laps.
I usually swim about 3000-3500 meters in a typical week when I'm around a pool, more in the summer.
Speedo makes a waterproof MP3 player. I borrowed one from a friend and it was amazing. It could make you forget all about running.

I hear ya....I had been running 5 miles each morning before work....lost about 30 lbs. (went from 197 to 167) I need to start back again...it's been two weeks since I ran any distance. I can feel the difference from just two weeks off.

Got a 10K next weekend and hope to come in right at 40mins. Then I have a couple 1/2 marathons this summer. Love running.

H2O Audio also makes several waterproof cases for Ipods. If you do want top try swimming, look up Total Immersion on youtube and on their website. It totally changed my approach to swimming.
