Overall, I'm after a 1969 Camaro that drives and handles nice with a decent ride and performance equal to or greater than new modern sports cars.

The car arrived at Prodigy Customs 1 week ago for their expert paint and body and suspension work. I'm lucky that they agreed to help me out with this project, I feel good that my car is in such good hands.

It is a unbelievable car to start with. It needs quarters and some floor patches, but for what we normally see this is a sweetheart.

He has a really nice paint scheme ( it is his to devulge) and wheel combo picked, and dressing it with all DSE goodies.

This will be one hot looking car.

Frank, do you sell Vintage Air Gen Iv system with hidden hoses? What's the cost?

ProdigyCustoms
05-05-2010, 05:49 PM
We provide the extra hose kit and the plates to run it through the blower motor and kick panel. We add then at no additional cost to the kit. the kit price for a complete system is $1295 and we cover the shipping (about $100 value)

Yes, I'm changing the color to blue, I'm looking for a royal blue, (maybe Viper GTS or Corvette Admiral or Lexus Spectra Mica) with black or Arctic White Z28 stripes.

I'm not sure whether to put the vinyl top back on.

Anytime man, we get a few visitors a week with the Big Mouse (Disney) 30 minutes away. Lots of dads slip away for a little break!

The shop is NOTHING like you would expect, but the stuff that is around there is pretty cool.

Frank, you're too modest regarding your shop and all that goes on there....you have a great operation.

About the A/C stuff....I'm thinking hard about the VA IV stuff and if I could get it to work in my 70 or not....you quoted something like $1100 for a kit without a compressor (I think it was in another thread somewhere)...anyway still planning and schemeing for the future. Working hard to put up a shop right now so my car is on hold for the meantime.

How far are you from the coast/ I95?

I drive to Vero Beach every year from Charlotte at least once a year, I wouldn't mind stopping by one of these trips....

Sounds like I may need to plan a "family trip" to Disney World, maybe this Fall would work out good. How is the weather down there in the Fall months?

Any updates on the new paint or suspension? Looks like it will be a very nice car with the parts and shop you have selected. Oh, and my vote is loose the vinyl top.

I spoke with Frank recently, the project is underway (dismantling, stripping paint, etc.). I will post pictures when available.

I am leaning towards not replacing the vinyl top. I have thought about going 2 tone with the top painted the same white as stripes, but I haven't seen this done before and am not sure if it would look good, (sort of like the 2 tone '55 Chevy's). Any opinions?

Does anyone have any pictures of a 2 tone first gen Camaro?

Great choice on the blue with white. Frank is that booth up against a block wall on one side sweet way to save space. How is the 45 of the booth at the top attached.

The booth walls are block and the roof is 2 Binks roofs (45' long) screwed into the block. We built it that big so we can paint everything at one time, same can of pint, same air pressure, same weather same amount of coats to assure everything is the same color

Guys, the blue is killer! This is a color the owner picked out. It is a difficult color to shot pics in the booth. I cannot wait to get it outside, this color should make the sun need shades!

We are starting to sand and buff now, but have PRI in the way this week. Plus we "added" a little more to the scope of work so this one will pop over the holidays.

As for trim, the car will recieve the full trim package including the original SS350 badges, rocker and wheel well trim. With some HTM finish SP3Ps and polished lips. should brighten the metalics even more if that is even possible!
