So at the recommendation of "Fast" Mary, I decided today I was going to start with the lowering of my seats in the car. The previous owner had cold welded in some 4-5" brackets and called it gravy. So after a couple hours with the grinder and some primer, I'm about half way done. There is just WAYYY too many holes in this floor, So I'll be welding them up this evening. Gotta love pulling the carpet back fro the first time.

For some reason I feel the need to say: "You do intend to back up the seat mount holes with something...right?"

At least you started on a Friday and gave yourself the entire weekend to get it done!! Good luck.

I'm curious as to the lowering the seat advice - and I'm certainly not questioning Fast Mary's advice, but was it to lower the center of gravity on the car or to put you in a more comfortable and natural driving position?

Yep, I'll be putting some plates under the car for support.

As for lowering the seats, I dunno, the height was good for judging the size of the car and getting around the cones, but I was pretty close to the roof and the new position frees up a lot of room. and I woudl imaging being lower in the car should increase the seat of the pants feeling.
