It would look good if you were driving something big....like the space shuttle! :hand: it might be OK in a drag car

if you need that much hood clearance go with a tear drop hood.

Big block in tiny car!

I wanted a stock look so I made an intake that is actually better than any cowl induction.

Cowl's look good but if you have a forced induction at high speeds that means more power. As long as your tuned for it.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't run a cowl that big. so for me, I'd stick with the smaller ones.

Unless you plan on adding an f40 wing to finish the rear..... then maybe...:)

That big of a cowl on a street car is a big pain in the ass.. Think about the blind spot it could cause..

I have a 4" cowl induction hood on my Nova. No problem seeing over it and I'm only 5'6.

I say if you want a 6", do it.

Just say no. There was a 4" Harwood on mine when I got it and I thought that was too high.

I had a steel 6" on my 67 Camaro when I got it. I don't even know where the guy got a steel 6" hood. It looked ridiculous. Unless it's a Pro Street car I'd go lower.

I had a 4" on my old Nova and IMO it was too big. I'd go with 2 1/2". I know you said it won't fit, then I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. My 2 cents...Go with the smallest cowl that will clear the engine.

Tried the 6in...waaaayyyy to much, I'd leave it if drag racing was all I was doing. I think I'm gunna go with the 4in or the ram air hood I just found, looks pretty wicked 68 500kr style heres a link to it

I think the hood should add to the cars lines, not be the eye catching piece. A low profile cowl hood is the way to go.... or one of these...

I looked at that hoods for like 2 hours and I just feel there is not enough going on there...The car is only going to be about 2 inches off the ground so I wanted some kind of rise in the hood to off set it

Honestly, if you like the large hoods, then go for it. I personally think they are tacky, but some like them. Its your car, screw what others think and make it your own. As I said, I think a hood that flows with the rest of car is ideal, but thats just my opinion. Some people like the huge "in your face" type of hoods, and if thats the look your after, then drop one on.

I guess what Im saying is, its good to get other opinions, but if they differ from what you really like, then they don't mean anything. Be true to what you want "your" car to look like, and you'll be happy.
