looking at this picture from RTTC, do I need a rear sway bar? seems to be leaning alot, this was the turn leading into where we started from.

To me it looks like most of that is from acceleration not lateral load since it is squatting a bit.
What is the balance of the car in a turn while keeping a constant speed, such as a skid pad? If tight/understeer yes if loose/oversteer no.

maybe spring and shock tuning? What bar do you have in the front?

looks like squat from acceleration, I think someone already asked, how did the car feel? was it loose and sliding or balanced with good acceleration out of the corners? understeer/oversteer? some weight transfer or squat isn't a bad thing its what your looking for most times to obtain traction, and your car looks good by the way!!
I think Mr Quick and a few others have a Recent thread where their discussing that very anti squat and the Ideal application/amount needed

The more I think about it the more I agree with it being squat, I was entering this corner pretty fast and then on the gas, this pic could be of me on the gas.
The car actually felt good to me, it was my first time on a road course so I cant compare it to anything, I didnt experiance what I would think as over steer or understeer, I was very suprised with my lap times as i did fairly well for the day, maybe I'm just suprised with how the car looked in the corner, it could be spot on, next time out I'm going to ask David or Mary to drive it for me to get a real guage on it.

I agree with the other folks, thats mostly squat, it doesnt look like your in too tight of a turn. But the inside rear tire does look to be a lil unloaded, as does the front inside.

Yer front bar is large enough. A larger bar at the rear will pull the inside of the car down some.

But if the car is feeling good then more bar at the rear might make it a lil loose (oversteer). With what you have now you may be pushing a lil (understeer) but really, thats not a bad thing. Its a slower car thats pushing. But most folks can drive a pushing car faster than a light car. Better to have a car thats being pushed through the turns and predictable so you stay on the track then to look for a lil quickness on the turn with a car that is a lil light (oversteer).

You can keep a car thats a lil heavy (understeer) through the turn on the track easier than dealing with a car that wants to fly through the turns but would also love to loop you in the process.

You can enter the turn a whole lot faster, with confidence that you can shed some over speed with the pushing car. Take the same turn with a light (oversteering) car and find out you are too fast it may be too late. Its loop time.

One last thing. Your car looks great. And dont be too concerned how it looks on the pics. What matters is how it feels on the track. If you have confidence going into a turn a lil hot, thats a good thing. The scary part is when you know you are too fast into the turn and you have a car thats prone for oversteering, even some heavy work on the binders isnt gonna help much at that point. It becomes a ride that you are just a passenger in. JR

Im glad I found this thread while its on the top and hot. I have a problem with excessive roll. I have a 61 falcon that I managed to squeeze a 429 in. It has right about 425 horse on the ground(480 lbs/ft) with a 10" footprint. Hears the catch; satchell link rear suspension. Being a newbie I thought a low roll center meant that it would'nt roll. I was wrong. This thing is a boat. I have a front 1 1/8 solid sway bar with 10" end links that are mounted 5" away from the pivot on the upper control arm. I'm about to make a rear swaybar but I'm unsure on what size and length of arms to start with.

The front sway bar made it acceptable for street driving. However when I get fast I end up with issues. My falcon has those half rear skirts and my tires being a fingers width away; they make contact.

So my question for the experts is: How much body roll(in degrees) is good, bad or acceptable for a road coarse or autox car? I'm sure it all depends on the car. I have about a 60/40 weight bias.

What is a good size and arm length to start with for a rear swaybar in my situation? Thank you to everyone.
