Hey All,
My name is Tom Bobolts and I currently work as a Staff Editor for powerTV. We publish a number of online automotive magazines, but that is another story.
I'm a big fan of the Pro-Touring movement. I think pro-touring will be a bigger help to the muscle car market than the way drag racing shaped and carried it in the 60s.
I recently had the chance to attend both the El Toro Run To The Coast Event and the GoodGuys Del Mar and had a blast! Having photographed drag racing for two years now, and never autocrossing, I didn't know what to expect. But it was the most fun I've had at an event in a while. Even got to take a ride in the Spectre El Camino.
As for my projects, I currently only have one right now, and it isn't one that you might expect. You see I wanted to combine my love for drag racing, autocross, and that I can do anything with anything kind of idea. So I'm building a 1982 Chevy Caprice Classic Station Wagon that will be designed to run on the street, strip, autocross track, and anything else I can think of.
I call it Project Grandpa, and you can see all the process so far by visiting Street Legal TV here (http://www.streetlegaltv.com/forum/project-grandpa.html).
I look forward to getting to know you guys and gals on here better, and learning more about pro-touring as a whole.
We'll I think I've rambled on enough,
See ya on the forums!
