Where have most of you people gotten your front suspension parts for doing this upgrade? Have most of you bought them with the subframe package your using? I am looking but only finding a few places that offer the parts so I thought that I would ask.

You can buy them with the subframe package , or from a salvage yard , or from a GM Parts Dealer .
There are several GM Parts dealers on this site as sponsors.
Any of them will give you a great deal.

Since I am building a scratch frame for my C10 thats why I was asking. I know Art Morrison says not to run those control arms because a truck weights too much, but with the 'moly frame, LS based power plant and all the other things I am doing I am shooting for a 3200 pound wet weight so I beleive I will be safe. That shouldnt be to hard to acheive since GM literature claims the trucks weighed on 3330 lbs with a straight 6 and powerglide in short box form.

I got the majority of my pieces from Ebay. I did find a few at a swap meet but I've been collecting the rest of them, one at a time, on Ebay. Some of them on there are priced ridiculously high but I've been patient and put the whole front end together for under $500.

good luck with the build. I just got my sub frame and all the front corvette suspension in from art morrison. dinos corvette is a corvette salvage yard that gave me a price of $1500 for a complete C5 front suspension when I emailed them. but I tried calling numerous times and leaving messages and never talked to anyone so I didn't buy from them

Really? That is crazy! The 04 Silverado I special ordered (standard cab, short box, 4.8, 5-speed, vinyl floor, crank windows) weighed in at 4700 lbs... When I found that out, I sold it and bought a Camaro. I was auto-crossing the truck.
My point is, how times have changed. I think S-10s even weigh into the mid-high 3000lb range.

Yeah. I was really shocked at that. But really with there is not a lot of components to those trucks, but I kind of question the weights GM had in their literature.

I agree with you on both counts. Yes, simpler = lighter. Air bags, A/C, computers, wiring, crash bumpers all add up. But still, the number seems a little light. And I'm sure that is at least "dry weight". I remember a similar discussion on another board (or maybe here) about GM's listed weights for Camaros. I think the discussion was 1st gens vs 5th.
Oh, and back to the original question: I've seen good deals on ebay and corvette forum.

Heck most of the Vettes weights are in the 3500+ range Idont see that much difference as they have to have some extra strength added in just to be safe. I mean unless your gonna run multiple road courses over the period of many years, like running a nascar circuit.
and yes the weight of a short box 6cyl was that light. My buddy just swapped a big block into one and that finally got it over 3500lbs.

On the C5/C6 parts all the place the guys above have mentioned. Also hanging out on Corvetteforum or LS1tech you can find some deals. If you do some research and are patient alot of money can be saved. Vavlegod used to be a great source for parts like that on Corvetteforum. He saved me alot of money on a torquetube but that was 7 years ago.
On the weight of the new cars, it always amazes me when people say I need a big motor for my Chevelle, the new cars often times can be just as heavy if not heavier and plenty of guys are going fast. Air bags, ABS, electronic driving aids, Navigation, a dozen speakers etc etc add up on the weight and don't forget these new cars do better in crash tests, they have to have bracing, crash structure or something somewhere to take the energy.
