I have a 69 Camaro with a DSE LS1 fuel tank.

This doesnt seem right to me. Arent the DSE tanks 19 gallons??

Thanks

Does the gauge read empty or do you really run out of gas? My ricks tank says empty with 5-6 gallons left. The sender is 1" off the floor. It's a pain in the ass with a thirsty big block. I've been told they did it on purpose since the tanks aren't baffled that great.

No I run out of gas..

On more than 1 occasion I will hammer it or go around a corner and it will stumble and sputter.
Head to the gas station and 11 gallons..
Just happened yesterday 11.2 gallons.

Thanks

Exaclty, it's not out of gas but it's baffled so poorly that you need to fill up. You fuel injected guys can't get away with the pump pick up being uncovered. Us carb guys can get away with a little more.

Is this what I have to look forward to with my DSE tank also? WTH?

I'll lay it to you straight. You're not paying for GM engineering here. Running them until they are bone dry isn't going to happen with a fuel injected car unless Steilow designs it. I've run my carbed tank bone dry but it can starve here and there. Bottom line, fill it up every time you drive or race it. It's not a big deal. It's not a daily driver. If you are building your car, this won't be the first obstacle similar.

Call em, Dse is a great company. Usually when I call about a problem with any part(Not DSE) they tell me they've never seen it before. That must be the first hour of training.:1st: Maybe I'm just pushing their junk to a new limit.
