I just bought Ridetech's rear suspension for my 67 and see on their website that Velocity wears 335/30/18 rear tires. Does anyone know if there was anything more done to this car than a minitub to assure that there is no tire rub on hard cornering?

I hope it wasn't you that snatched the g-bar with shockwaves for $700 last week

Just mini tubs pushed in DEEP. You need 14.5 to 14 3/4" at 10 and 2 o Clock for 335s.
We just finished 68 in our shop with 335s.

DSE minitubs installed per DSE instructions. We use the BFG 335-30/18 KDW with a 18x13 CCW wheel. I don't remember the exact offset...seems like it was 7.25 backspace...but that would depend on your exact rearaxle width.
Good luck!

Let's put it this way. I am having the 9" custom made so it can be any width I want it. But I measured today and if I need 14.5 to 14.75 inches I am screwed. I need at least 1/2 inch clearance from sidewall bulge to the lip and inner tub, right? If most 335s are 13.5 inches at the bulges, I see Frank's math.
I am going to have to use the 295/35/18 KDWs for the Optima Challenge. Or find some 315s or something.

you can always rework the outer wheelwells and quarters, fold the lip ,pull the quarters

I assume you guys addressed the tire rub issue you had at Optima given that the car looked great at El Toro. Should the rub issue you guys had be of any concern to the OP?

I measured today and have 13 inches at most. I know I could pick some up by rolling the lips some, but that makes me nervous with fresh paint on it.
I think I'll go with some Falken Azenis 315/30-18 which are very similar in width to the 305/35-18 Toyos that I have on the car now. I hate to give up the width by going with the BFG KDW 295s which are a half inch narrower.
All this to get over 200 treadwear...

if youre anything like me, youll be doing it down the road if you dont now. plus, bfg is now giving away money!!!!
personally i would slice the inner and reweld with the added clearance and be done with it.

The R1's kiss the inner fender ever so slightly. The KDW's don't. They measure precisely the same...I assume that the R
1's load the car harder so they induce that last fraction of lateral movement to create that bit of inner fender rub and resulting tire smoke.

Your website says you have 18x11's with the 335. An 18x13 is insanely hard to fit in a 68, if its even possible at all. Curious how you did that :)
