So I was pricing out a set of inner fenders and was told to stay away from Goodmark as their quality has gone down drastically. I was told that all the guys that did the good work at Goodmark have left and formed Auto Metal Direct. Is this true??

I have no idea if that's true, but if you need a good deal on AMD parts, let me know,I'm authorized distributor

yes they did, and there parts fit! We have installed several of there Mopar parts and they are good pieces, we have some GM stuff coming that we hope to install in the next 30 days. these guys did their homework. Goodmark still has a fair product, as well as Dynacorn. We are dealers for all three. But the best fitment and quality go with AMD. I know those guys and the guy that helped them get started very well, they care about quality. There downfall is variety as they are still limited on product, but they will adventually expand as the market demands.

OK i must be dumb, but what does people leaving have to do with the quality of the sheet metal as much as it does the machine in this scenerio?

Who ever has the better stamping or molds etc... what ever they are called would be the better choice no? Are not 99% of these parts made overseas where the large stamping machines went ages ago, and basicly there are 2-3 manufactuers and goodmark, amd, etc.. .are just distributers?

AMD has their own tooling, so their parts are not the same as Goodmark, they use thicker gauge steel than factory, lines and edges are nice and crisp, better fit and overall just better part,it's worth the extra $$

And AMD has the aluminum hoods and new subframes.

100% correct. When they originally started they sent bodies over there and flew floyd garretts [garrets muscle car museum] metal man to check fitment, then when they started production they sent him back to check random parts as they came off to assure the quality. I believe they are still doing that as they develop new parts.
That is why they are more expensive and well worth it

As a Mopar guy I can tell you that the difference between AMD and Goodmark stuff is gigantic. It's not even funny.
