Dakota Digital sensor?

I was wondering if any of you knew about the speedo senors Dakota Digital uses. Do you have to usee their sensor? I wanted to know if the stock 4L65E sensor would work instead of the Dakota one. The Dakota unit is larger and it is tight on my install to use theirs. If I could keep the stock one it would work better.

as far as I know it is just a magnetic pickup so provided the electrical values are the same it should be fine. Check the resistance value of each of them and report.

I was thinking the saem thing but I did not want to wipe out anything and cost me major cash.
