"When the tempest came through, it ripped two of the huge tents from their moorings and scattered dozens of heavy poles and trusses onto the cars below."
Recently, authorities were able to locate the tempest responsible:

Witness say Schwartz was seen drinking several Shirley Temples at the event, prior to the incident. During the "Autocross You're Murdered-Out Musclecar" Schwartz lost control careening into the tents.
He's been charged with Driving Under the Influence of High Fructose Cornsyrup, Manicular Vehicle-slaughter, and Conduct Unbecoming a Pro-Tourer. He is currently out on bail.
