My wife (who is the AF) just got an assignment to the capital Santiago. Just curious if anyone here has been there? Might be going to live there for 3 years.

Tip from a friend, STAY WHERE THEY TELL YOU TOO. Out side of specific areas you can and most likely will have issues, other than that, take big generator and air conditioner with you, He said it was HOT, but if your wife dont mind you looking , to get the juices flow of course, eye candy EVERYWHERE, oh and you can sometimes see lots of OLD classics in pristine shape.

Good surf.

And world class skiing at Portillo.

I've been there twice. They just elected the most "right" president in their history. We have customers down there. Santiago is a cool city. It has a European feel to it because of the architecture. I'm from the central valley in Ca and the weather is like Ca. I would say it's a little milder than the Central Valley is... I want to go there again for a vacation though. Driving is a little scary at first but you get used to it. I had a gps in my rental car, but it wasn't very accurate as far as where roads were supposed to be. Another thing you will need to get used to toll roads, so you need to alway have peso's with you. Most are electronic, but some aren't...
