Heading up to Vegas this weekend for Viva Las Vegas, figure I would ask what your favorite place to eat in Vegas? location and meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner)
One of the top ones for me would be Smith and Wollensky there mac and cheese is awsome! great service from friendly people. Also the Hiltons Cafe has a frosted flake incrusted french toast that is so good good! I dont even think it listed on the menu but they will make it. We are goin to check a place called Hash a GoGo?? my friend say its a must eat place.

"Olives" at Bellagio is good. As is MESA at Caesars.

Stay away from Nobu.

Is that a Todd English joint? If so I ate at his Olives in Boston and it was amazing, and I don't even like olives....

Delmonico Steakhouse in the Venetian. I have dined at a lot of really, really nice restaurants around the country but this place had the most outstanding service I have ever had in my life. The meal was equally outstanding. http://www.venetian.com/Pages.aspx?id=852. It is pretty small and as you have people waiting on you like you are a celebrity, you will need to book a reservation well in advance. We called at like 1pm and were able to get one of the last reservations at 10pm or so. There is a reason why.

I was there last week and ate at Del Friscos Steakhouse

Have to say awesome. Food was great, but plenty of good steak houses in Vegas. What super impressed me about this place was the service it was simply outstanding

It's about 5 mins off the strip down the Ceaser's end of the strip.

I was there last week for the first time and was told I had to eat the Rio buffet, so I did and it was pretty good. We stayed at the Hilton and the vanilla waffle in their cafe was excellent. The best food I had while there was hands down Maggiano's though.

Del Fricos Steak House is an awesome chain, I've eaten at one in Indy and Charlotte, NC.

Eat breakfast at Ellis Island on Koval Lane behind Bally's. When I was there a couple years ago, we had breakfast there almost everyday...Steak and eggs with homefries - $1.99. We might have had a coupon, but in any case, it was really good and cheap. They also have a $6.99 steak dinner.

I was also impressed with the buffet at Paris. Having eaten at a lot of the big buffet's around there, including at Rio, I thought the one at Paris was the best by far.

You can't really go wrong at:

Smith and Wolenskies (spelling?) - Last Wednesday night. Incredible steak joint down near MGM.

McCormicks - Ate there last Tuesday night. The best prime rib I've ever had.

Del Friscos - Also great food, next to McCormicks (Although the last time I ate there we sat next to Tommy Lasorta and a large group of his friends. OMG we drank too much wine. As we were leaving we ran into Bridget Nielson and my friends tell me I let out a very loud "Flavor FlAAAVE!')

For casual try Canter's Deli inside Treasure Island, upscale SW Steakhouse in Wynn, super casual Hot Dog on a Stick in Fashion Show Mall (for nothing else but to "admire" their uniforms). As you can tell I usually stay on the north side of the strip.

If you're not from the west coast and don't have one nearby, like me, make a trip to either FatBurger or In-n-Out Burger. FatBurger is easier to get to, need to cross the freeway to get to In-n-Out.

Have fun...

PepperMill for breakfast/brunch - best in town and sure to cure whatever ails you! I make it point to eat there at least once every time I'm in Vegas!

Frankly, don't care for the food offerings in Vegas. As opposed to how they used to be, I find the restaurants of lesser quality and increased cost. I've stayed at Bellagio a few times. Olives was "OK". If you like TE places, try Figs next time you're in Boston. Jasmine? Eh. Alex at the Wynn is pretty good. That would probably be my choice I guess.

Give me restaurants elsewhere any day, though. I've always been a little disappointed with the quality vs cost equation at Vegas with Food. I guess it's location, location, location that you're paying for.

my favorite place is the steakhouse at bill's casino on the strip. it's probably not as fancy as some but the food was the best.

for a buffet my favorite was downstairs in planet hollywood. I can't remember the name of the place but go hungry.

There is a reason they call me Munch...

Not fancy, but you have to try Island Sushi for the all you can eat.

Do a google, search it is south of the city in a strip mall.

Amazing sushi at a great price.

Even though the hotel is a dump try "The Steakhouse" at Circus Circus. really good dry aged prime steak with all the traditional sides.

Have fun!

Don't forget about the In-N-Out Burger, south end of the strip. And near that, though it's not food, is Fast Track, indoor go-cart track, a must-do!!

Gotta agree with Bucca di Beppo! Huge platters and real good tira misu (sp?)!

I also like Austins steak house inside of Texas Station. 2"+ filet that melts in your mouth and the chopped salad is a meal in itself!

I don't do too many eateries on the strip, was a local boy there for 18+ years, there are tons of good, and reasonable places to go off-strip.
