Well I just got a set of 99 vette wheels and tires to put on the chevelle
and was wondering if any of ya'll have done it or no anyone who has put any late model Gm wheel on an a-body. I know I have to get some adapters and was looking at Vette Brakes adapters. Any avdvice would be much appreciated.

Hey, TB4life(name?),this link (http://www.motorsport-tech.com/Pages/Intro.html) is who I'm going to get mine from, they have an ebay auction site where they sell for $140 a set, if you want hubcentric to the wheel it is another $100. So for $240 a set of four, it's a pretty good deal. Here's the Ebay link. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=66486&item=7918614440)

I'm running 2002+ S-10 wheels. They only come on the ZQ8 2wd option. 16x8's and they have perfect back spacing. Their on a 72 Velle.

I'll get some pics a bit later on.

I'm putting '00 Z28 rims on mine and using skulte adapters. The frame is going back on the body tommorow (about freakin time!!!) and I plan on dropping plums and running levels all round to ensue that the backspacing will be exact on both sides. I heard it's not ucommon to have a difference of up to 1/4" and that's not good when you're trying to run the biggest tire possible. I'll keep you posted. They're pricy (about 300 for all 4) but they are the best and custom cut. www.skulte.com/adapters.html

I was going to use those same rims on my 71 chevelle. I ended up getting 17" chrome zr-1 wheels from afs wheels. They make the 17x9.5 and 17x11" rims for 84-87 vettes that have less backspacing than the originals. These wheels let me use a 1 1/4" spacer on all 4 corners and they fit perfect. 275/40 and 315/35. The c5's have about 7" b/s if i remember, so you would need about 3" worth of spacer.

Yeah i measured 7 5/8 for the rears for back spacing and I think 7 for the fronts.
I'd really like to makes these rims work cause I got'em cheap! But I'd hate to have to buy $400 bucks worth of spacers to make em work, what do you all think....??
