Is anyone sucessfully running an IRS on a 60's muscle car on this forum?
I have looked into using a jag rear axle but decided aginst it for several reasons.
I am now seriously concidering using a 03/04 cobra mustang rear axle in my 1966 mustang project.

Any feed back on this idea would be great

Dalamar is using the mustang cobra IRS, and so am I, in my Maverick. There is also a company called DVS Restorations that sells a kit to mount the cobra IRS in your '66.

How much torque are you running through the IRS?

I have looked at DVS but given the custom nature of the chassis / space frame for the project I will design the mounting points of it myself when I finally get that far.

Bit of a long shot, do you know of where I could get full geomotery data for the cobra IRS as standard.

Also if you look in the right place the 89-9something Thunderbird/Cougar ran a very nice design, if it needs narrowed it would be worth it as it had a greatly adjustable as in had both camber and toe adjusters the actually do a good job.
And depending on your choice of power it can be had in 7.5 and 8.8 so most of the Mustang/Ranger center section parts interchange!
