66-67 Chevelle, Lemans/GTO and Tempest owners

We have adapted our popular electric trunk latch kits to more vehicles. This kit fits 1966-67 Chevelle/Malibu, 66-67 Lemans/GTO and Tempest.
Some metal trimming is required to make the latch fit into these cars. This kit includes everything that is needed except the tools to install it. The catch that is included in this kit is not available as a reproduction item. Therefore a factory latch is used. Since these are factory items that have been discontinued and are not available as a reproduction item these kits will also be limited to supply.
We throughly inspect each catch before it is machined and then we have it zinc plated. We supply a template to show where the trunk latch cut out needs to be trimmed.

The part number for this vehicle is MI 820 the price for this kit is $179.

Your Cutlass has the latch mounted in the trunk lid, correct? The latch in this kit mounts in the body of the car. I have not looked at the trunk lid on the Cutlass to see if it has the same cut out as the 64-65 Chevelle. Another concern that I have is the height of the trunk lid...the latch might be too tall. This is the reason I don't have a kit for the 68-72 Chevelle. There isn't enough room for the latch, it hits the top of the trunk lid before the bolts can be installed.

I thought that latch and trunk lid looked familiar. Glad to help, Shannon. :)

This kit is so easy to install it's ridiculous. No issues whatsoever. A very handy and well engineered feature to add to your A-body.
