Hey team - I'm looking for your opinions on a cable drive or fly-by-wire throttle body and why you think one is better than the other. My LS3 is being shipped without a throttle body, so I get to make the choice and I prefer to make an informed one! Thanks for your input.

since it can be a safety thing and electronics are not to be fully trusted, i'd vote for a cable operated linkage.

DBW. Throttle rate can be tuned, cruise control initiated, and a cleaner installation. I'm serioulsly considering upgrading the current PCM to use one.

DBW. never heard of a problem with GM vehicles, and cruise control is easy

Never had an issue with the dbw on the LS7. If you just got in the car and drove, you'd never know the difference, IMO.
I like the capabilities that the stock computers offer, as well. Unfortunately, with the newer computers, it's not possible to get cruise control without having a BCM, at least to my knowledge. With the older 'LS1' generation of computers that had a separate throttle control module, it was very simple to add. To me, the lack of cruise control is the only drawback to it.

GM DBW may not have been problematic however adapting a system to a vehicle that was not designed to use it is questionable. I'd rather run cable just due to legal implications. Just not worth the trouble imo.

I like the cable setup. Simple and easy.
