Question for the trans guru's seeing as there's some action in this area.

Can too tight of a converter cause a car to stall in a quick stop situation? I've been ignoring this for a year, I reasoned myself to believe it was either floats too high and partial flooding on decel, but then the more I thought of it I always was unsure of the converter picked to go into it.

According to the builder, he put a stock GN converter in it and said it should be fine. I'm going to try dropping the floats when I get the car out soon enough, but I'm wondering if there's a converter change in the future.

I've seen lock-up converters fail to un-lock and lug a car down on decel or quick stops... you still have the lock up converter?

Kevin, it still is the lock up converter, however I haven't hooked the lock up up yet. That was on the list of things to do this spring. I never thought about the possibility of a lock-up issue.
