Awhile ago Nick Licata and Steve Rupp approached Jon about shooting his 67 Nova for the Nova Annual. At Super Chevy this last weekend they stopped by and well, Jon got the cover with a kick butt 6 page spread and a great write up. Congrats Jon!!

That is a great looking car. The stance is great and the wheels are perfect, and this is coming from a guy who can't stand how common Torque Thrust style wheels are. These are different enough for me.

Great looking cover cars. Great to see the Novas get some love.

I have a story in there on the DSE subframe.
Since I got "stuck" at DSE for two days during one of the east coast blizzards, I drilled Kyle and Stacy for as much info as I could about the Subframe, and what the differences are in the Nova compared to the Camaro.

I remember being out at El Toro doing the shoot and Jon told me it was his birthday. I thought, "man, sucks for him to be standing around on a Saturday watching someone shoot his car for five or six hours."

Jon, I told Rupp he had to get a cover -- no excuses. He came through.

Nice job, Steven...

Happy Birthday, Jon

My secret to getting a "cover shot" is to shoot around 600 images and hope for a good one.. lol

My FAVORITE shot is the two-page spread shot of the car in profile.. I surprised myself on that one.

Great car Jon, thanks for letting us shoot it!

On the very bottom? That is owned by Paul, one of the key guys at Turn Key Engine Supply in Oceanside. Has a badass twin turbo LS engine in it.. more of a Pro-Street deal but a very cool car. It's not a flat paint.. has a six page feature in the book.

That "other" '67 is on the Super Chevy website. Look under cars, then Novas.

Thanks again you guys! And I can't think of a better birthday gift!

I need to order some copies of the magazine, like 10 or 15, I have family members that are dying for a copy. It's my first cover, so we're all very excited. :1st:

And, Steve, that's my favorite shot too. I don't know what you did, but the paint, stripes, wheels, everything just look STELLAR!

Congrats Jon, it's a very deserving car for the cover. So have you already sold the thing? I have to ask because you seem to go through cars quicker than Rupp goes through engines.

Matt,
Yes, I was at car show at our neighbors here in Corona, West Coast Customs, and a customer saw it, and had to have it. We took first place at that show too. I accomplished what I wanted to with the car which was to showcase our new wheels at SEMA, and when Nick and Rupp visited our shop and asked to shoot it, I couldn't be happier! Since I was 16, I dreamed of owning a cover car, and that dream has certainly come true.

Personally, my wife and I are about to buy our first home, so we're using half of the capital from the sale of the nova as a down payment, and with the other half I bought this car from my friend and graphic designer, Travis:

I have big plans for this car over the next year, but I'll start a build thread once Ben is done with the rendering.

That's great to hear Jon, and congratulation on the west coast customs show too.

Oh and let me know if you're going to be around the shop Saturday. I'll be passing by with the Camaro and will make a stop by.

I was wondering if anything was new with that car. So it has a new owner.
