Looking for an affordable wheel for my 66GTO does this wheel seem like it belongs on a Ford? Kinda reminds me of something you would see on a Cobra but I still like it and think it could work for me.

Thoughts??

That doesn't look like the Ford wheel.

I looked at your original thread about your project. Obviously, I'm partial to '66 goats :)

From what it looks like you're doing, might I suggest a set of Coys?

Based on what you seem to be doing, something a little more "classic" looking might fit the overall build better. You can still get the sizes you want, but can retain that "muscle" look even with a lowered car.

If you're asking me, yeah, I do - but for this particular car, maybe not as much. The spoke shape is a little "Mustangy" I think. Just my opinion. They're nice wheels. I just thought a thin lip with a traditional TT type spoke in a large size might work better.

wmhjr, Thanks for reminding me about the coys :) I have seen them but didn't give them much thought for my car. I thought they were out of my budget to be honest but they aren't and I actually really like the c-5 in gunmetal or black or the c-57 is pretty cool too in gunmetal.

As for the 338's I'm worried that they are becoming too common.

If I went with the coys I would probably do a 17/18" x8" combo but I can only get up to a 4.5" backspace would that be enough? I thought I needed to be at least 4.75" front and 5" rear with an 8" wide wheel?

Well I have made up my mind gunmetal c-5s but do I want 17/18 or the 18/18 hmm...

I actually don't know about the backspacing on those. 5" BS on an 8" rim might be enough. Don't put too big of a tire on it. I'm running 6.25" BS on a 10" rim but I've also modified my wheel wells. With Coys, the one thing you can probably do if you're not in a hurry is to just order 1 front and 1 rear first. One of the advantages of not ordering build to order custom wheels.

Go with at least an 18/18 combo. It's a big car and will swallow up 17's
