I agree.

Everyone call your congressman and tell them that they can not spend your tax dollars on wrecking an American Icon!!!

Porsche sold half of their yearly allotment in only the first 3 months the car was for sale.

I don't know what it's selling like in the States but it seems to be selling well here in Switzerland...

I just assumed by how ugly it is, it wouldn't go over very well.

My wife's uncle is a GM for a Audi/Porsche dealer, and yes, they ARE moving well.

Ugly, IMO, YES. But selling.

Keep the vett a coupe. I agree the CTSV is the way to go with 4 doors. I would love one in my garage. I am waiting for them to get 3 or 4 years old.

Agree. I have seen 3-4 in the last couple of weeks. Many more than the Mazer Quattroporte with which it is in direct competition.

Top Gear loved it when they tested it, but agreed that the external styling was.....awkward.

On the CTS-V, they are supposed to be developing a coupe version.....kinda don't get that either.

The v coupe is aimed at the m3...which is going to be a tough sell, to say the least.

I'm more concerned about the v6 version.

The G8 GXP was the perfect M3 killer afterall thats what it was designed to do in Oz. The 3 series BMW was Holden's benchmark. They did offer a couple in the Holden. Can't go wrong with LSx power, 6spd (GXP had it as an option) with Brembos.

Hope they never make a 4 door Vette thats just sad but bean counter noncar guys are running GM now.

^^ that's a photo-chop that came out using the Carrera nose.
The real one is more like a fat loaf of bread...lol
The front has some good angles, the mid-section and rear take some getting used to...

Bad idea on the four-door Vette. The CTS-V definitely serves this purpose. Cadillac in my opinion has made great strides to not be the same company that was your grandparents knew and loved. I would happily drive the wheels off of a CTS-V at 29 years old. One of the docs at my hospital has one and he has had some work done to it. It sounds amazing at idle.

My G8 is sorta Vette'ish... minus all the power and go fasty bits... and handling and stoppy bits.

Sounds like one though... which throws off anybody who drives next to me. As if a Pontiac Sedan isn't supposed to sound like a Vette...

haha..

Well it does note that it probably would not use the Vette nameplate, and that makes it ok by me.

does this mean that they are going to dust off the Corvette station wagon concept from the late 70's, too?

I think its a stupid idea...just my .02 like everyone else said before the cts-v is an awesome car with plenty of room in the back. Not to mention it ran a 7.59 at Nurburing setting a track record for a factory sedan with factory spec tire... and did I mention that was with the automatic not the T56!!!
