I know this is a long shot, but before I go off to the desert I am going to buy my wife a house. Can't seem to find one with a large enough detached garage, or room to build one. I was hoping the power of the internet and the 6 degrees of seperation principal may help me out. I don't expect PMs but you never know.

Location: South Jersey, Hammonton, someplace near McGuire

Price: I'm in the military :) Trying to stay under $320k.

If by some strange chance you know of something please let me know via PM. I figure the one place somebody might understand why I need at the very least a 36' x 48' garage would be here.

wait until you return. Hazard pay, separation pay etc will add up and make a better down payment. The housing industry still has a long time before it recovers...

houses will drop after april 1, thats the last time to get the 8grand from Obama. That incentive is creating a false high. Im looking to buy a house here in san diego, 320 buys me a condo with maybe a two car garage.

Man, the market must be crazy where you guys are at, I bought a 2000 square foot rambler built in 1997 here in MN this fall. House needed some interior work but the structure and exterior was/is great. I got the house and 2.5 acres of nice woods for $98k....

www.realtor.com (http://www.realtor.com)
204 listings within 5 miles of Hammonton, NJ:
Max price: 320,000
Lot size: At least 1 acre

http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-search/Hammonton_NJ/price-na-320000?sby=2&pgsz=3&ml=2&ofbm=4

If the link doesn't work, type in the city and then hit enter. Adjust your advanced settings, and use the Map view---it takes a while longer to load than pictures, but you can move the map around and it will load any homes for sale in the screen. I have started searching in Dallas, TX and ended up moving the map to view Denver, CO and it still loaded new listings.

Good luck in the sandbox, watch out for the camel spiders!:scared:

My family has looked at almost every house listed on Realtor.com and every one has got some kind of wierd deal. As an example one I put a bid in on Tues was a divorce and the lady would not accept any bids lol. I'm just not having any luck at all and running out of time.

I am being moved to Mc Guire AFB in Jersey before I leave so I have to find a house one way or another. Trying to rent with 1500 sq ft of shop equip and 2 German Shepherds is tough lol.

I'm going to check out Ghost's link and see what's up.

how long have you been married? I only ask because I saw what seperation has done to marriages...

I've been in for a long time and this is my second wife. 1st one could not handle it and we were married very young. I had no intention of doing it again but when I met my wife she was a different breed. You know when people say "you know her when you meet her", it was that kind of thing. While our seperations have been hard, we have had 0 issues. To be honest I base most of that on her faith and religion. If you are like me you have probably heard 1000 soldiers say their wife would never do anything while they were gone and you have to chuckle to yourself when you hear that. However, I really have a good one. She has toughed it out so far and I have utmost confidence in our marriage even being tainted by a pretty bad deal the first go round. Believe me, I'm a realist and I don't have any goofy false, romantic veiws on life and we're good. Her and our relationship is the least of my worries! I just need a big garage :)

And yes, I know I am very blessed and lucky.

Just asking...I've seen first hand via pictures of what some wifes have done...I was just saying to make sure it's the one, because she gets half...

Be safe over there and thanks for doing the work that so many ungrateful people don't understand...

Well said! I spent 22 years in so I know exactly what you're saying..oh and I have the another good one (wife) too! I too spent a few days away from home and it definitely helps to have Jesus as part of your life and #1 in your marriage! :1st:

Have a safe trip to the big sand box and keep your head on a swivel! :usa:
