Ok i started at Autozone about a month ago and been working my butt off...now ive always been told by other employers that i was a really good worker but it never apparently took me anywhere...UNTIL NOW! ok basically one of the three PSM's (basically assistant manager) is leaving and they of course needed to fill his spot and guess who got it! yes i got it and im turning 19 next month so this is a big step in my resume...but i didnt want this to be a bragging thing just figured i would post it cause ive been workin since i was 13 and my experience seems to be paying off...

Congrats bud, keep up the good work! I've never really worked in retail, but I've heard franchise stores can be great for upward mobility if you are good at what you do.

Congratulations Jerry! That recognition is an awesome feeling. You'll go a long way by continuing to improve yourself and improving those around you. Keep it up!

Way to go. Hard work does pay off.
I got hired at my first real job in a machine shop at 18. I started sweeping the floors and within about 8 years I did every job there was to do and worked hard at it. Now, I'm the GM and the guys I used to work for now work for me.
Work at it and strive to be the best at what ever you do and you will succeed.

Congrats dude. I had the same thing happen to me at the same age at Autozone. Then my other boss found out and gave me a big enough raise to quit. Hard work pays off. I love hearing "Man I wish I had more Andy's around"

Good Job Jerry, hard work and dedication always pays off. I remember when I was 20 I started as a parts runner at a local Car dealer and because i was such a go getter i was a Service writer within 6 months, and became assistant service manager within a year and a half.

Congrats, especially for someone so young. Now dont take this the wrong way because I dont know you or your personal car knowledge but...be the guy at the parts store that actually knows what they're talking about. What I mean by that is, you want people to say "go to auto zone and talk to Jerry, he'll get you set up" instead of those idiots at the parts store have no clue.

Congrats!...I know what it is to sell the counter parts, I put myself through college working part time selling autoparts. Had a much larger quota to sell/week than the full-time 40hr/wk employees did. Found out that many of the HP parts were sitting in dusty, faded boxes and nobody took the time to help folks that were interested in go fast stuff. Ended up selling more stuff each week until the quota out grew the full-timer's. Funny thing was by the time I gave up that job, I had alot more seniority than anyone there. I went through 7 or 8 store managers in those few years...LOL
I really enjoyed talking with "most" of the customers and bench racing. Batteries was another item that nobody liked to sell and they would pawn those customers off on me, because I didn't care. We installed the battery for free so it got me outside and out from behind the counter for a few minutes. It's funny how 20+ years later those part numbers will still come to me for starters and alternators...LOL
Counter guys at Advance Auto look at me funny when I ask for a part by number and then they get into that speel about asking what year, make, model and engine....they give up when they realize that I was asking for a rear diff gasket for the 9" Ford rear in my V8-S10.....ah...fun times.
Do you mess with the new hires and get them to pull made up parts for you?....Muffler bearings for a 1983 Corvette...etc...

Hard work does pay off.... but you know what pays off even more? When your manager quits, you have a chance to fill his shoes! Keep at it and good luck!

I couldnt tell you how many times i've went in these parts store knowing the exact part # and the counter person looks like they just seen Medusa. They totally freeze for a fews seconds then just ask what vehicle anyways.

Congrats! Make sure you get some $$ for your new responsibility.
These days a promotion title change no pay raise is becoming epidemic.
Great work! Glad to see some young folks out there working hard!
