Finally got the FB into the garage last week and go the 5 link started. Thought I'd post a couple pics of the progress. What do you guys think? It is my first try at it in unibody car, done a couple of trucks in the past that turned out quite well. I still plan on running some supports on the fronts of the upper link boxes and there is still a lot of clean up and other things to fab up.

F70, I built everyting in my garage. Had go to my dad's to use the drill press for the holes, but everyting else was done with a mig, a torch, an angle grinder, and a vise.

Thanks for the compliment!! I am starting off with a 315, but going to set it up with enough to run 335s. The current measurement from lower bar to fender lip gives me 14.25" which should be more than plenty.

Don't take this the wrong way but, looking at the pic you are using the boxing plate as the front 4 bar bracket? You might want to reinforce that somehow. If I am seeing wrong please disregard. If it is how I think it is there may be a safety issue there. Good luck

Thanks for the compliment Ralph! Brian, I plan on running a doubler plate on the upper mount as well as a tube tie in to the subframe connector and the rear frame. I am also going to run small gussets on the front link ends of both upper and lower links. It is at about the half way point now, still alot of work to do. I have actually seen a similar set up to the one I am doing without the extra bracing and it didn't appear to have any issue after 10k miles. I'm not putting my life at risk though..

Nate, how about some assistance on my 67 camaro project. I'm still working out the details on a 5 link myself, and yours looks to be almost identical. Keep us posted on the progress.

Did you keep the rear axle on the leafs while you did all of your fitting for the 4-link in the pic? That way there was no guessing on the axle location? Just curious, as i considered keeping the axle on the leafs and then building a 3, 4 or 5-link while it was still in it original position.

Sure he will. Back seat passengers will just have a really uncomfortable ride! :lmao: Not that many F-body backseat passengers have ever really had a comfortable ride anyway though...
