View Full Version : Anyone have a picture of Kooks LSx mounts?
I haven't had any luck getting a picture from Kooks yet.
I'm curious how they positioned the holes because one PT member says his LS7/stock oil pan fit onto a stock subframe with them.
Anyone have a pic?:smoke:

Interested myself
I re-emailed Kooks after about a week. Still no response.
(and they're the ones who suggested I email the request when I spoke to them on the phone!)

you know, a LS7 oil pan should fit a stock sub frame with any mounts because its low profile in the front with a rear pick up like autocraft pans.
I'm with you on that, but then I ask myself, why would ATS make a specific pan for stock steering and stock subframe?
Just looking at pictures, it looks like the stock LS7 pan might hit the center-link, when compared to a modded F-body type of pan.
I'll soon know for sure.

not sure, i do know the LS7 pan is dry sump and alot of people don't run that. i sold the LS7 pan i had so i can't go look.
If I am looking at it right. It looks like the kooks mounts move the engine back an inch or so more, and up maybe half a bolt hole.
I'd agree with that.
I'm curoius what that will leave me between the head and firewall.

I spoke with kooks today. Their mounts put the motor in a stock position.
that seems to be what a lot of manufacturers say but stock location means different things to different people. stielow used these mounts on blue bomber I believe.

Those are a much nicer version of the hooker plates. Stock location means your bell housing mounts will be in the same place as your small block. This puts the passenger side head of an LS motor pretty close to the firewall. 3/8" in my situation but it seems like that varies a little depending on body mount condition and alignment of the subframe.

Hard to get a clear understanding there - he is using the dse sub which also throws another variable into the mix

Centerlink pics. These are with the short steering arms. And the F body pan.
