Im restoring a 68 Firebird and I want to install a hood release cable to the interior of the car. I have a hood release cable from a 3rd gen camaro. I was wondering if anyone has done this and has pics. I would like to know where and how to connect the cable to the existing hood release of a 68 for it to work properly. any help is appreciated thanks.

Me too- I'm looking to do that for security reasons I was thinking of a stiff choke style cable. Just drill a hole & fab a small bracket. If there is a simple way to use a factory style- I'm all ears.

We did it on the '67. You'll need to move the orientation of the latch 90° so the you a good path for the cable and you will need to soften up the spring a bunch. It's not that tough but will take some time.

Lokar has one but the handle is kinda big and bulky.
