Anybody know who makes a bluish primer color? I'm wanting to do the car in flat or satin blue and I like the primer look. My first car was rustoleum spray can satin black, and ever since then I've loved it. Don't know why.

You can use a tintable primer to make it just about any color. However a better road is to do a normal paint job and add flattening agent to get the desired look. Primer is much softer whether it be base/clear or single stage.

This is PPG's DP epoxy primer in blue, I think it's DP60. Part is scuffed in this pic for bodywork, but you get the idea.

as lsx88ciera said, you really don't want to use primer for a finish coat. Most primes will allow moisture to get through and will rust your body. Alot of people make the mistake and think primer is a protectant when its not.

Paint the car with the color you want, then add the flatening agent to the clear to make the flat primered look, but the protection of paint. Again, as already said, but its worth mentioning agian.

Didn't know that. I thought that primer/sealer would protect it. Learned two things from this site today. It's a banner day!
